Re: [Ableton Live 10]VST-Plugins not detected
Hello guys, please excuse my delayed post, as I have some busy times. I do regard all your posts that were actually quite helpful. For now, I decided to switch my OS (setting up Kubuntu with UbuntuStudioInstaller -> Audio Settings) inasmuch as it seems to be not only convenient but also more stable...

Re: Can somebody please explain to me how to use Ubuntu Studio?
Right on dudes. So if I understand correctly, I can just use those DAWs, without a JACK server? Or the DAWs will create and manage the JACK server for me and manage all of the other applications? I read here that you have trouble starting Jack Audio. You can try this: jackd -d alsa --device hw:0 Do...

And: "Single client, Multiple client, Continuous rack and Patchbay". Those last options are not there if I start Carla-Rack instead of Carla. It's explained here: https://kx.studio/Applications:Carla Carla-Rack is just the executable name to open Carla in "Continous Rack" mode. ...

Re: Carla Patchbay - interface and port naming
[...] Is this the expected behaviour ? [...] Yes, I'm afraid. There are too many utilities in Linux and too many confusing names for things. The art of using Linux is to find a simple utility or method that'll work in every distribution and for years and years. This is how I determine device names:...

Re: Latency Tip
There is a lot of good information here. One thing that I am still wondering about is, how does the USB interface relate to DSP load. For example, one a single track with bunch of demanding plugins Carla shows high DSP load while the "Performance Meter" in Reaper shows around 15% RT load ...

Welcome! And what @folderol said.
What DAW are you using? Do you already know what Jack Audio is and have you switched to using it yet?

Re: [Ableton Live 10]VST-Plugins not detected
Again: using software (DAW's, VST's) from operating system A on operating system B is always going to be troublesome. It's possible for quick little things (like reading a document), but it's not advisable to do that intensively for an extended period of time. Sorry man, but that's just the way it ...

The error message is because of the spaces in the path. Open a terminal in the program folder with the .exe and enter: wine Ableton\ Live\ 10\ Suite.exe or wine '/home/username/.wine/drive_c/ProgramData/Ableton/Live 10 Suite/Program/Ableton Live 10 Suite.exe' You can autocomplete the executable nam...
