Re: C++ Audio TS
You think it is better? It is much better than the pointer arithmetic or even more hard to read stuff. I do agree that callback based design right now may not look great but since coroutines were added to C++20, people say that the code will be much better with them. Also, the code you've posted do...

Re: Github Microsoft/calculator README.md
Not really a new meme. But the Stallman and FSF are always like "license is important, everything else is details" so now we have tons of MIT/BSD/whatever spyware. Because license is important! The fact that it is spyware is not and big corporations will continue to flood everyone with it ...

Making music is suffering indeed. Making music software is madness. But, what else do we have? Drugs? Suicide?

I've written about this: https://lyberta.net/articles/tech/free_ ... usted.html
Basically, pretty much every FOSS project right now is spyware, or as I like to call it - stallmanware. Nice job only focusing on license, Stallman, nice job.

Thankfully, we have Tor. I hope one day everything will work only via Tor.

C++ Audio TS
I'm surprised nobody posted this: there is a proposal to get audio in the standard! I'm so excited, finally, a common base to work on so we can forget about raw pointers and all other sheganians. I'm gonna follow the development and try to convert all my audio code to be as compatible as possible or...

Re: Resurrecting GIG Support in Carla
Ugh, LinuxSampler is such a poison. I think we should make a list of projects that took code or link to LinuxSampler so we can avoid them.

Make files are never easy to compile unless the call the package manager or become the package manager.d.healey wrote:HISE auto-generates a makefile so it's easy to compile with a single command.

Nice! I'm curious, could you give us more details about your ambitions with "a sampler or orchestra virtual instrument"? I might be able to collaborate, depending on what you are trying to do. Hi Michael, I even don't know what answer to give you right now. The idea about this plugin aros...

Re: A video promoting the use of open-source software for music production
Please stop using the term "Open Source". The legit term is "Free Software". By using the watered down lingo created for the sole purpose of tricking decision makers into using Free Software, the public is taught to value only pragmatic side-effects which are sometimes achieved ...

No you don't. You are bound by a license the same way as with proprietary software.d.healey wrote:With free software you own your copy, you are free to resell it, change it, share it, etc.
