Re: Fiwe - wireless audio effects

You know, this type of project might benefit from trying to integrate into SHOES!!!! Don't laugh, I'm serious. I often am jealous of little kids wearing shoes that have LED's (light-emitting diodes) that light up when their feet touch the ground while they walk. I've used guitar stomp boxes before e...

Carla's Learning Disability

Not-related, but for some VST(i)'s you can do drag-n-drop and that works.
But it's not an ideal solution if your VST's are heavily nested in folders.
But the folder nesting seems to be what prevents Carla from finding some VST(i)'s.

I will try Camomile

This is a great concept! I have not yet tried the implementation, but I think I will try it after I get my DAW reinstalled. I am in the process of redoing my current configuration somewhat (to further support 64-bit instead of just /PAE). I really like the idea of being able to use the PD ideas with...

Re: [SOLVED] What Are Some Good Free File Hosting Sites?

Today was the first day of using archive.org for me. It's working out great! The data isn't likely to evaporate like on some other sites, and the GUI tools for author and end-user are streamlined pretty well. Their modus operandi and philosophy is totally compatible with my goals too: to archive wha...

Guten Tagen

Dang, I am happy for you guys. I sure wish I could have been there. I'd love to go to Berlin for the people, music, linux, food, computer science and maybe meet some distant family members. For what it's worth, possibly my biggest musical influences are KMFDM (keiner macht fur dich meir) and Front 2...

Linux DAW Extra Help (continued)

Just so ya know, I'm going to be reviewing my own settings at home to see what I had while my system is still working great. Also, I will be installing a 64-bit system from scratch, so I will have a chance to get fresh results that way too. Currently my system is only 32-bit (because I love all of m...

Linux DAW Extra Help website starting up

Hi, thanks to the helpful suggestions here for file hosting sites, and thanks to those that helped me to get my DAW running better. I'm taking a break from composing for a while, but it also gives me a chance to focus on writing a Linux DAW blog! I don't have much on it yet, but the first data uploa...

Re: Rainy etude on Salamander Grand Piano

Wow sounds good. You are talented. It reminds me of the music during very serious and emotional scenes in movies. In the movies it would start like this and then gradually some heartfelt pro orchestral chamber strings would supplement the lead piano. But you'd have to hire a small orchestra to get t...

Electro Body Music

A minus mix is a mix "minus" something else. This I didn´t get. What are you doing then with the minus mix? I would just double my drum tracks and exchange the samples and mute the original tracks. How would you call the style. Someone said it sounds like EBM :? You could do what you are ...

Re: Embarassing things you did in your first recordings

In a few of my early tunes, the percussion was a one-bar loop that repeated for the entire tune.
No way will I do that anymore. Luckily, I had enough happening in the tunes that people didn't complain.

I agree with the idea of changing the process/toolset before each project to get different results.
Thanks for the video

Re: "Situation is Blinding Light" (by Protozone) FREE DOWNLOAD

Thanks Michael, I looked at those links. Thanks. I will try and learn more about those styles. I am sort of going for that type of thing somewhat. Personally, I am a fan of what some used to call "electro-industrial". Since then and the whole dubstep/brostep/"edm" and the idm/dow...

NICE! The emotion and drama comes through clearly and right away. You have a good sense of arrangement. I can tell that your tunes will improve over the next years. I don't mean to sound arrogant, but I think you got what it takes. My only suggestion is to keep researching drums sounds for that styl...

MS CORE FONTS (mscorefonts)

You might need to manually install the MSCOREFONTS (Microsoft Core Fonts) I forget which fonts are the core ones, but there's only about 10 of them. A web search will tell you which ones are the main ones. I remember that the downloadable .DEB / PPA on Ubuntu systems used to malfunction. So I don't ...
