Re: muliti distro and web browser crash problem
thanks thetotalchaos, I ll try loading the manjaro grub again, but how can i do that without being able to boot into manjaro? Use a generic Arch installation CD (Manjaro is based on Arch as you know) make a chroot into your Manjaro partition and reinstall and reconfig grub from there. It should wor...

Re: LMMS was kicked by Jack
Set LMMS to output to ALSA. Than you can use some form of ALSA to JACK bridge. As falkTX properly stated LMMS' JACK output is gently said "beta quality" Regarding the realtime usage, ALSA outputs in approximately 256 frames, but in order to have sort of stable JACK output from LMMS you mus...

Re: muliti distro and web browser crash problem
About the grub problem, its because Grunchbang is using an older version of grub. Try loading grub from Manjaro because its (probably) the newest and least tweaked choice from those you have. Regarding the browser issue it can occur if you're using a Realtime Linux kernel. Regarding your swap concer...

Re: AV Linux 2015
I agree. Making a rolling-release audio distro, really looks like a step in the right direction. Good luck Glen. And best wishes.j_e_f_f_g wrote:This is exactly what I was waiting for -- a 64-bit debian testing based/compatible audio distro.

Re: Using Qjackctl with jackd and pulseaudio
The point of all of is that, like it or not, pulseaudio is and will be the default sound server on GNU/Linux, and if linux audio community refuse to accept this fact, than the whole "linux as professional audio" thing will slowly cease to exist. Did you read my entry post? The way I descr...

Re: Using Qjackctl with jackd and pulseaudio
Here pulse use ~1% dsp load on demand. I can go down to 32 farmes without any xrun when pulse is suspended, otherwise, I bounded to 128 frames. When I run a session, I've no need to use pulse, or any app which will use pulse, so yes, when pulse is suspend, only jack aware apps work, and that's why ...

Re: Using Qjackctl with jackd and pulseaudio
...I'm to lazy to do that by hand, if a script could do the job. Actually i did this only the first time. Then the system somehow remembers it, and switches automatically :) Well, I was as well surprised how well the pulse in jack integration works, but indeed, I can receive lower latencies when I ...

Re: Using Qjackctl with jackd and pulseaudio
I think that this is important to be stated. I as a user, that is using a single sound card, supported by pulseaudio, am not having any issues with pulseaudio to jack integration. I even prefer to use my multimedia tailored system, with pulseaudio, because it gives me advantages, that i don't have w...

Re: Crashes working with audio (urgent)
This is a very interesting situation Murmur, sorry that i didn't notice this topic early. First let me say that in your hardware, the weakest spot is your hard drive. You can bring out the best of it in this situation by adding 'noatime' as partition option in /etc/fstab. Second using values for jac...

Re: Debian 8 (jessie)
In order to use the generic Linux kernel in Audio, it should have at least 'PREEMPT' option enabled. You can check this with the command 'uname -a' like: $ uname -a Linux totalchaos 3.17.6-1-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Sun Dec 7 23:43:32 UTC 2014 x86_64 GNU/Linux This option gives you the ability to have re...

Also Cadence is loading 2 i/o channels out of the box. Nice job falkTX.

Re: Call for Testing: KXStudio 14.04.1 ISOs
I already do enough with KXStudio repos, Cadence, Carla, DISTRHO and a few (semi-secret) upcoming projects. I should be getting less work, not more! This is a point that the Linuxaudio community should realize, in order to have a well tested stable multimedia distribution, its needed more th...
