Re: Basic editing and mastering Help wanted!
What i ask is what the basic plugins are to use. Equalizers, Compressors, Reverbs, Saturators, Distortions, Limiters, Pitch Shifters and different other FXes. There's nothing special as there is no magic pillow. I understand those actions and already know a lot about it. Then why you are asking thi...

Re: Basic editing and mastering Help wanted!
About 4 months ago I've completed explaining sound engineering lessons at my work. All is recorded as 8 video lessons, each 3-4 hours long. I already offered to publish them but the main problem is that they're in russian language, so require for translations. I've done a 15-minute snippet from firs...

Re: Mastering Plugin -- Help me Pick?
Please read this topic: https://sourceforge.net/p/lsp-plugins/tickets/10/ The main problem is probably that you've placed binaries at invalid place. OK. The "invalid place" was merely their own "LSP" subdirectory inside ~/.vst. I moved them all up and now both DAWs can see them....

Re: Mastering Plugin -- Help me Pick?
Please read this topic: https://sourceforge.net/p/lsp-plugins/tickets/10/ The main problem is probably that you've placed binaries at invalid place. Also, currently LSP Plugins have serious UI issues with Tracktion (and other JUCE-based hosts) that I'm currently solving (UI doesn't react on mouse mo...

Re: Mastering Plugin -- Help me Pick?
Thank-you so much everyone:) Maybe it's my ears fault then... The only thing I haven't tried in the suggestions (aside from purchasing) was the LSP plugins. I tried to install the VST versions but they don't show up in (neither in Ardour). I'm not sure if I'm missing a dependency or not, but I real...

Re: Import problem Ardour 2 to 4
Maybe you can try Ardour 3 as a middle-point of session conversion?
Try to convert first in A3 format, and then only in A4.

Re: Why VST??
You don't know the history of my fight for an external UI extension for VST. That's true. The simple idea (also used by Linuxsampler) is to completely separate the GUI code into its own application. Therefor once and for all solving the problem of different GUI toolkits not working together well wh...

Re: Who pays for what ?
Do you financially support Ardour via a monthly payment ? Yes. Do you support any other FLOSS project with regular payments ? No. Did you donate money to any open-source developers in 2016 ? If so, how often ? Yes, KXStudio, once. Did you purchase any commercial music software for Linux in 2016 ? No.

Re: Why VST??
LOL: The next developer wasting his time on porting his gui code to plain X11 to work around the problems with the host developers "we want to have full control over the plugin window, so we won't support your external UI extension to VST". I don't understand what's funny here? I'm not ha...

Re: Why VST??
I'm not sure that's entirely true, we have semi lost at least one valuable developer due to Linux being a pain to maintain and support. I don't see any problems in maintenance and support of Linux. For most cases (excluding some unique and magic ones) pre-compiled binaries work well. Probably there...

Re: Why VST??
There is a very strong culture against Linux, a culture where people always turn to whatever everyone else is using. And everyone else is using it because everyone else is using it. It's tradition of the averaged human's mental system. Don't forget about duckling syndrome: "I learned this thin...

Re: What do we have? What do we need?
Edited to add : I've downloaded your plugins and had a quick look at the Spectrum Analyser and it looks good. My main comment is that the actual graph is quite small considering the overall size of the plugin. I realise the other versions have more controls to fit in a limited space, but on the mon...
