Re: are you always listening at 83dB SPL? aka/ ISO 226:2003 based loudness compensation
mastering engineers don't realy aim for -14LUFS though. it depends on the genre, every genre has their typical LUFS level. they don't realy master for the -14 target for online; it all comes down to the amount of compression. if a genre is tipical -9LUFS, and then uploaded, it will have about -14LUF...

Re: any way to stream jack output to Android over Wifi?
I found Icecast in Arch repos, but couldn't figure it out. but I made Soundwire work with ALSA JACK PCM plugin. problem is I have to define capture ports in .asoundrc every time I start a source since portaudio wants them defined and alsa-jack changes the port names. this is probably easier using sn...

Re: are you always listening at 83dB SPL? aka/ ISO 226:2003 based loudness compensation
I think this is as revolutionary to my sound as digital room correction was. first: you don't necessarily need a SPL meter. you can use it by ear like this: listen to songs you love on Spotify (with normalization turned on) and put them to "perfect volume" on your amp. this "perfect v...

[ignore] how can I ban pulseaudio from my packagemanager?
I'm just joking, I acidently installed pulse (came as a dependency) yesterday. Today my alsa-jack plugin stopped working. I seached for 3 hours for the problem, getting almost crazy, before pulseaudio came into my mind. naturaly, stopping/uninstalling this moutherf_cker solved the issue. man, why do...

The plugin has been published within 1.1.24 release of LSP Plugins. Thanks for the small donation. very nice like I said Dolar vs Brazilian Real is very high atm, at feels more like $100 to me in terms of buying power. recomended it at the audio forum I participate https://www.audiosciencereview.co...

Unfortunately, if you are used to Mixbus having a mixer without the built in EQ, compression and high pass is quite jarring.

Re: Your Thoughts on EQs
I would have to put 'non of the above'. These days; I do all my mixing on Harrison Mixbus which has EQ on the tracks, the mixbusses and the master bus and I use the XT EQs if I feel the need to reach for anything else. I love Mixbus's simplism aprouch, but the track EQs are not enough for cirurgica...

5.1 (ac3) downmix plugin?
I don't know why ac3 downmixing of 5.1 sucks so much. I find myself having to adjust volume all the time. speaches are low volume, then comes soundeffects that are vibrating the walls. tryed out 2.0 and 2.1 downmix. both suck.
