Re: What distros are you using?

I was using Bodhi, but just put Crunchbang on my studio laptop. Looking good but yet to do a proper project with it.

Muse 2.0 Improving

Just wanted to say (if you haven't) that you might find it worthwhile to check out the SVN of muse sequencer, as there have been nice developments in appearance (including a nice 'Dark theme' reminiscent of Ardour), bug fixing and functionality.

Re: E17 released

As a kind of a sequel, I have done a clean Bodhi install on a laptop & E17 is doing much better. Interesting as it pretty much proves an upgrade is not as good as a clean install, even with deleting configuration files.

My experience in general is that folks who can't or won't make the effort to present their case with tact usually don't have much valuable to contribute to the discussion... I'm following a self-imposed rule: Post only positive messages or don't post at all. I say again, the kill filters here work ...

Re: Integrating a note editor inside a recorder/sequencer

Forgive me if missed a mention of it reading through, but muse sequencer is an integrated audio midi sequencer that has a score editor.

Re: E17 released

In the interest of fairness, Bodhi has just done a big update to Enlightenment & it does seem to be a big improvement. Still some issues with default icons. I may try & see how a clean install does when I next have time. EDIT: Five minutes later - already had a crash that required a wm resta...

Re: Any apps for finding Keys & Scales for a song?

There is also an app called play it slowly. Very useful for transcribing as it slows music without changing pitch. As a guitarist, I use it a lot for figuring stuff out.

Re: Muse 2.1 out today!

Muse is the app that convinced me to start making music on Linux (Being used to cubasis in those days) & I still love it. I find it productive and intuitive. The team are friendly & I have got help & bug fixes through the using mailing list. A great app.
