Re: Playing a sampled Instrument in 2021 – is it really that complicated?
At first I tried some free sampled Pianos. I wasn‘t quite satisfied so I bought a Piano in sfz format. I read about a plugin called sfizz. I tried to load sfizz in ardour and had some trouble with this plugin. Possibly does not help, but it is worth trying to test if liquidsfz would work any better...

Re: Melodyne in Linux
Can't trust uncracked proprietary software either. Sure, but level of evil is lesser. They won't encrypt my disk and ask ransom, or they would be in court & out of business soon. And for milder evil, will free software save you? At least I haven't curated source code of my softwares, and if you...

Melodyne in Linux
After some searching and trying, reporting current status with Melodyne: Current version 5 is impossible to run with wine currently, registration fails. There is rumours that cracked versions work, because registration is only thing failing, but I did not verify this. I can't trust cracked software....

Re: Problems Installing 64bit Windows VST
I strongly recommend installing winehq wine, https://www.winehq.org/
I've installed dozens of vst plugins, and no problems. Currently I am using wine-staging

Re: What DAW should I use in 2021?
It is pretty huge work to learn DAW properly, so I would say learning all DAWs is huge waste of time. There's a big difference between trying and learning, what I mean by “trying” is just to instinctually give a try and explore a bit what possibilities are easily available, this to have a big idea ...

Re: What DAW should I use in 2021?
I would say: try as much Digital Audio Workstation as possible to choose what's best for you. It takes time, but then, you have a good idea of what exist in case the one you choose go to a direction that does not suite you any more. It is pretty huge work to learn DAW properly, so I would say learn...

Re: fircomp Free compressor with perfect curves
It does indeed look interesting but I just tried the Linux version and it was instantly blacklisted in Mixbus and didn't show in Carla. The Win version comes as a .vst file rather than a .dll so LinVST didn't recognise it either. Hopefully someone can get it working and share. I like its non-skeuom...

Re: Reaper MIDI vs. Mixbus MIDI
I'm trying to decide on a DAW to use on my Ubuntu OS. Coming from using Logic on a Mac I'm trying to find something similar. I will be mostly recording some guitar tracks that I want to fill out with MIDI drums, synths, pianos, samplers etc. I was a huge fan of the EXS24 or example. I've narrowed i...

Re: What DAW should I use in 2021?
Hello guys, I am new here on the forum, and decided to move to Linux FINALLY. I've been using Mixcraft 9 Pro Studio for recording songs, but decided to move to Linux and also learn producing music, I tried a lot of DAWs but my brain just stops, and lags. So I'm currently using Mixcraft over WINE. b...

Re: a Thriller à la miami vice lol :D
https://doctormixstore.com/thriller-discount hurry up broz, sis its MASTERCLASS... (they say the best) (comments say best, i agree lol,,,,) For me it looks suspicious. Re: Change sample rate and preserve loops
problem is that the Wav format per se doesn't "hold" or "manage" loops nor metadata though it can accept to have some attached thus I suppose your "wav files with loop markers" are held in some metadata which were added at some time by some sound editor or akin? anyway...

Re: Drumkit Licensing
Anyway I just changed the license. WTFPL Version 2. I don't care and neither does Vincent (who recorded the samples). I was trying to at least have him credited if people redistributed the drumkit. But if this makes people question whether they can use it creatively, it's not worth the hassle expla...
