Re: The corruption of Audacity

Those saying this is a deal breaker do realise it comes with an opt out?

Re: Mixbus v7 experiences, anyone?

I have reported a bug about a week ago re mass duplicating midi regions which is a bit of a show stopper for me

Re: How do you learn to use new programs?

I use the manuals and all the help I can get; for me, they do not make sense until I have used the program and learned the UI.

Re: Learning audio mastering. Linux first?

I would look at Ardour. Google audio mastering with Ardour.

I use Harrison Mixbus, which is Ardour based, for my audio work which is not expensive if you sign up for their mailing list and wait for the offers.

Re: Ardour6 crashes

If you can have it open long enough and do a 'save as' you might be able to recover it.

Re: Adding all the current DrumGizmo kits as a package

I would not want all the kits, mainly because of size, but packages would be good. There could always be a master package with all the kits as a dependency for those that wanted them all.

Fantastic. I do this with various boxes, amp sims etc as well. It is very easy to compare when you use your DAW

Re: Recording Classical guitar in Ardour 6

I record different configurations of my mics and gear and see which sounds better. I basically audition them. This allows you to easily compare mic placements and combinations. I found it worth the time and effort because when it is time to record a project I already know what I will use. I do a ser...

Re: Recording Classical guitar in Ardour 6

I would also work hard comparing configurations to get the best with your gear. I record 'auditions' in the same project and compare.

Far better to have a good take to work with

Catchpa too obscure

Hi. Phone died, took me a while to get to the right password. When I ran out of attempts and had to use the catchpa I found it enormously frustrating. Letters were ambiguous or unrecognisable. It was unclear whether some were letters or numbers. I am all in favour of security but (not wishing to see...

Re: Moderation on linuxmusicians.com?

This is one of the nicest and best groups I have been on. I have been here several years and have no intention of going anywhere. I look at the things that intetest me and ignore the rest.. If you want to discuss breeding hamsters in the backstage section be my guest. The one time I reported somethi...

Re: Ardour-$foobar

I am kind of bummed out that any development time at all was spent on MIDI. We might have a legit Protools alternative by now if all that labor wasn't wasted. I've never understood why keyboard players couldn't just play their parts and record the audio like everybody else, but that's another story...

Re: Your Thoughts on EQs

Unfortunately, if you are used to Mixbus having a mixer without the built in EQ, compression and high pass is quite jarring. didn't understand this part When you get used to having a mixer with the essential mix tools to hand, using another DAWs mixer, reaching for them and finding they are not the...

Re: Your Thoughts on EQs

I would have to put 'non of the above'. These days; I do all my mixing on Harrison Mixbus which has EQ on the tracks, the mixbusses and the master bus and I use the XT EQs if I feel the need to reach for anything else. I love Mixbus's simplism aprouch, but the track EQs are not enough for cirurgica...
