Re: KXStudio and Marketing

The bad audio thing was a response to what I thought it had read earlier (might have missread) - but there is a definite "linux dosn't do film only mac does film" thing out there I am not sure your argument is true for everybody though, I wasn't a technical person, but was persuaded to try...

Re: KXStudio and Marketing

I really dont get why people associate linux with bad audio... jack is free software... from the linux community... isn't jack a cut above? It's the same in video though, so many video editors I have met think they gotta have a mac or they won't be cool or get a job. Try explaining to them about ble...

Re: KXStudio and Marketing

Re: KXStudio future plans

I would love to see this in kxstudio please :) afaik it's in the repos, you can just add it and set it up to your liking. the live-dvd is supposed to be as simple as possible, with nothing in the way of the user (not saying this is the case though). Apart from the theming aspect that comes as defau...

Jack and audio config for newbie

hi, i got my audio working without jack (just for basic stuff like watchin youtube) by chaning the phonon bit in my system settings to prefer "c-media pci DAC/ADC" - this fixed my initial sound problem. I would now like to dry doing some basic music editing etc, but don't really know how t...

Re: kdenlive renders theora as invalid

odd seems to be the name of the game with kdenlive... not sure what the issue is there tbh, its properly bonkers software. Still, when it works, its a dream to use (when.... when.... if....!)

Re: kdenlive renders theora as invalid

Hi, I installed the ffmpeg-theora thing in synaptic/muon and have now been able to render to theora. Someone from kdenlive said ¨Hi! Looks to me as if you have been missing a theora decoder/encoder for melt to use for playback. But after adding "ffmpeg2theora" your melt can handle this. ff...

Re: kdenlive and kxstudio no sound

Hi, i got the sound working but the kdenlive problem persisted - which is a shame, cause I was quite hopefull jack would work. I am now prettey confident that the issue is with kdenlive itself, becuase playing a mp3 from the comandline doesnt yield any problems. I guess i need to install an older ve...

Re: kdenlive and kxstudio no sound

I believe that your troubles are not due to the distributions but to Kdenlive. The program's recent releases have suffered from many bugs and instabilities, including sound support, rendering, and vagrant crashes. I just wish they would be more open about this stuff. When I post on their forum its ...
