Re: First impressions of MusE 2.0

my main big reason is jack-midi. Qtractor doesn't do it and has no short plans for it. MusE kinda does, but I can't get a hang of its interface for me (I still want something like a step sequencer). Other jack-midi sequencers are Ardour3 (hate how the MIDI is done there), epichord (simply unfinishe...

Doesn't help. It's no audio recording but MIDI recording to a synth-module.

Re: Ardour 3 and "hear what you play"

Hi bluebell! The Calf FS LV2 had a bug that caused the notes to become transposed an octave or two up when you reloaded an A3 session last time I tried it but Krzysztof mailed me yesterday to say this should be fixed in calf git head now although I've not had chance to verify that yet. I'll be tryi...

Ardour 3 and "hear what you play"

I got Ardour 3 beta 5 and compiled the LV2 version of fluidsynth in the calf package. - When Ardour does nothing I can play on my keyboard and hear the sound. - When I record then I can't hear it. - When I play the recorded notes I can hear them. I can only hear the played noted while recording by p...

When you say "telephone voice", did you apply some kind of filter?
A parametric EQ (one band, LADSPA-module "Single Band Parametric") with 30 dB gain at 2360 Hz and 1.4 octaves bandwith.

German Pop

Hi all, here our latest song, a pop song with female vocals in German language. Verses in "telephone voice", chorus in normal voice. http://suedwestlicht.saar.de/Lied/?Lied=suedwestlicht-regentag Direct link to mp3: http://suedwestlicht.saar.de/musik/suedwestlicht-regentag.mp3 Made with Ro...

Re: M-Audio Fast Track Pro

It works with a standard kernel in 16 Bit Mode. But the problem is its instability (noise, cracks after some time of operation). Seems to be not a Linux problem. I bought a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 and don't regret it.

Re: Building your own real-time kernel

Some days ago I built a realtime kernel using the instructions at http://joegiampaoli.blogspot.de/2011/06/m-audio-fast-track-pro-for-debian-linux.html I didn't notice a difference to my old kernel (3.0.0 with HZ1000 as the only modification) exept for - m-audio Fast Track Pro operated in 24 bit mode...

Re: Scarlett 2i2

So just copy those settings Autostatic put in right? Don't need to do anything else? Yes, although the first entry (index 2) ist for my USB webcam. To simply nail the Scarlett 2i2 to index 3 just use options snd_usb_audio index=3 vid=0x1235 pid=0x8006 in a file with an arbitrary name.conf in /etc/m...

Convolver as LADSPA-plugin?

Hi all,

I found the LV2-plugin IR and got some impulse responses. Unfortunately Rosegarden cannot handle LV2-plugins yet so I have to start lv2rack and do the wiring in JACK.

Does anyone know a convolver plugin with LADSPA-support?

Re: Scarlett 2i2

Are you saying I should create this file in etc\modprobe.d ? So basically open and gedit notepad and type that input there and name it that and place it in the modprobe.d folder. You don't have to. I think it's a good idea to have the interface always on the same index-number. Yes, it belongs to /e...

Re: cpu frequency scaling

It drove me crazy until I found out by thinking ... hmmm ... it sounds about 20% faster ... 20% is about the turbo boost that can happen when only one core is busy. Still quite peculiar: I can't see any direct relation between CPU speed and audio speed. After all, the audio speed is determined by t...
