The GUI of a plugin shouldn't eat up any CPU when the GUI is closed. So I wouldn't stress too much about it.

Yep, understood. It's LADSPA format I need though.

LADSPA impulse response plugin.

This is going to sound weird. but hear me out. I'm working with a few LADSPA plugins at the moment, and it occurred to me how useful an impulse response plugin would be, if you could compile the plugin, with a user supplied IR (or pair left and right). I have a few favourites I use most of the time,...

Re: Looking for a working stand alone Sequencer

[...] Just a note on ME [midieditor, software]. I use it occasionally for quick ideas, and for that, it does the job. However, there's only one patch map, which can't be changed. So if you're good with GM and that's it, then it's an option. I have more than one orchestral soundfont that isn't GM, a...

I suspect you're replying to yet another chatspambot. Has all the telltale signs. One of which is that hidden url at the end of its message.

Edit: seems bot's banned already.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll look more closely next time, although what I wrote is valid, imho.

Re: Looking for a working stand alone Sequencer

I almost forgot about good 'ol midieditor . Also in every repo of every distro. I use it to make simple .mid files. Looks like this: Looks interesting, but Synaptic doesn't find it here on Ubuntu Studio. You're absolutely right! I spent half an hour looking for the repo from which I must have insta...

Re: high quality plugins for cinematic music?

You raise a great question - while Linux has made huge strides for pro music production, there are still some gaps in complex orchestral libraries compared to proprietary options on Windows/Mac. That said, here are a few standout cinematic plugin options that provide high quality results under Linu...

Re: Reaper and top Linux samplers as plugins: how to even set up?

Back to topic  The latest precompiled Fluida crashes on my Debian 12 system, I guess because of mismatching fluidsynth versions (v3 :: v2). Very good alternatives are: The "ace-fluidsynth" from Robin "x42" Gareus, it is in the debian repository. I use it all the time on my...

Re: AV Linux MX Edition 23.1 (AVL-MXe) Released!

For such large productions, maybe an older but large monitor would allow placing elements without the curvatures, while still having text labels easily read... I'm assuming you can snapshot that graph setup for repeated use. Maybe those with modern hi-res monitors will describe their efforts and re...

A useful site.

A quick heads up for a useful site, particularly the data involved with midi instruments sets, and other useful info.

Re: Fluida v0.9.1 released

The only issue left so far is in Muse4, where the gui opens full screen, and i have to manually resize it. I've posted a bug report in the Muse4 github account. Using MusE with Fluida, both new builds. Fluida GUI opens windowed here. Ok, i'll update muse4 and try again. Thanks for the heads up. EDI...

Re: Fluida v0.9.1 released

Qtractor, Muse4, and Reaper now display the selected instruments correctly, on reopening the channel window. Thanks for testing. The only issue left so far is in Muse4, where the gui opens full screen, and i have to manually resize it. It opens correctly in Qtractor and Reaper, so i'm wondering if ...

Re: Fluida v0.9.1 released

EDIT: Just tried 3 instances of Fluida in Reaper. I loaded all 48 channels with instruments, and saved the three 16 channel sets as presets. When i opened the track FX window to view Fluida again, two of the instances showed the same patch in all channels, being the last patch on the soundfont, and...

Re: Fluida v0.9.1 released

Looks good. I'll keep an eye out for the announcement tomorrow. So it's done. I've just pushed support for the Channel Matrix Editor to the repository. If you found time to check it out let me know case you get any problems. https://github.com/brummer10/Fluida.lv2 is there any possibility of gettin...
