Focusrite Scarlett is not (Windows) USB Audio 2.0 Class compliant
Microsoft released a USB Audio 2.0 Class compliant driver. I my perception the Focusrite was class compliant because it worked on Linux, my main reason to buy it). So,tried this driver, but did not work. Now is the issue. The 18i20 is only USB class compliant with MAC. That seems to mean it meets Ap...

Re: Focusrite Scarlett Second Generation
Hi guys, The Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 works on linux, BUT you can"t access the internal mixer. I don't know if it's an ALSA driver issue or an AlsaJsonGAteway / Mixer issue. Any helps would be really welcomed. Here are some links about this subject : https://focusritedevelopmentteam.wordpress....

Re: Focusrite Scarlett Second Generation
I worked with Fulup to make the 18i20 work, So yes, it works. (for 1st Gen). Definitely easier to use than ALSAMixer (but ALSA mixer works too if you know what knobs to change) but some argue a native Linux program would have been better. As stated above, I have problems with the rev 1 18i20 on 16.0...

Re: Future Linux audio hardware Interface support
Just happen to notice the first true TB3 Add on card for PC''s (If I am not mistaken) This is Asus update of the Thunderbolt-EX II add on card https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboard-Accessories/ThunderboltEX-3/ Still a hassle to install it. And only compatible with specific Asus Mobos Still show the pr...

Re: Future Linux audio hardware Interface support
If AVB does have comparable latency, I would prefer that. See an update from MOTU below for 192Khz at about 3msec latency. Another plus for AVB is to just have a web based mixer, no more Alsa-mixer or GUI development needed. Just the audio channels will do and the rest over HTTP. TB also may have a ...

Re: M-Audio MidiSport 2x2 Problem
I have one 2x2 AE and two 4x4 AE and all work fine out of the box on Ubuntu on the same PC (using them since 14.10 and now 15.10) The 2x2 has the merge and a normal (through) function, the 4x4 does not. Normally I do not used a Hub but it works with one too, Of-course you need check the "merge....

Scarlett 18i20 Ubuntu 16.04 qjackctl problems
Installed the standard Ubuntu 16.04 (on a test disk). Then from the software center qjackctl. (selected real-time support) Result: Qjackctl most often does not start. Either, the qjackctl screen goes black and freezes or there are DBUS errors. Device selected is "USB". Disabling realtime d...

Future Linux audio hardware Interface support
Just dropping a note with thoughts about the current situation of hardware audio interfaces and new technologies such as AVB (TSN) and Thunderbolt 3 on Linux compared to other platforms. Mac platform: AVB: Mac Ethernet cards support 802.1qav for AVB already, Focusrite uses Dante for TSN . Thunderbol...

Re: Focusrite Scarlett 18i20
Running 18i20 with Ubuntu 15.10 out of the box. Set Sampling rate in windows at 96Khz - since in Linux there is no control for this (see amixer) which is a real pity. Booted Ubuntu Qjacktrl , with 96Khz. Pulse Audio Jack bridge to pump PC browser audio (e.g Youtube) to the 18i20 headphones. Screensh...
