Re: Native Access 2 now works with WINE
Native Instruments has begun deprecating the original Native Access, no longer providing the latest versions of Kontakt through the application. For a while, Native Access 2 would not run on WINE, but this has changed. Thanks to casey for posting detailed instructions on how to get NA2 running . I ...

Re: Problems with Bitwig performance
Tried setting SCHED_FIFO for bitwig audio process and all its child when running plugins separately. Helped but did not fix the problem. SCHED_DEADLINE is not supported with liquorix kernel?

Re: Problems with Bitwig performance
Some discussions with Bitwig support, and found out that setting plugins 'with bitwig' works. Why it did not work before was that some of the plugins I had selected 'run separately' on previous computer. There that fixed some problem, here caused. But now question is 'why plugins as separate process...

Re: Problems with Bitwig performance
Testing more, problem relates to plugins loaded to Bitwig. But it seems to be pretty wide range of plugins, some native and some running with wine. And those same plugins worked ok in old system. Same plugins running alone in carla-single work ok. And also making identical project in Harrison Mixbu...

Re: Problems with Bitwig performance
If I understand correctly, all was good with Bitwig on your old Intel machine? Yeah, or at least xruns were not happening all the time. Something I would be curious about is -- do you have amd microcode installed? I'm using a Ryzen chip with Arch, and things have improved as I've updated the system...

Re: Problems with Bitwig performance
liquorix kernel does not have threadirqs. It does. I'm running liquorix kernels with threadirqs and IRQ's are threaded: $ ps -eLo user, pid, cls, rtprio, cmd --sort rtprio | grep -E "[s]nd|[x]hci" root 355 FF 50 [irq/62-xhci_hcd] root 363 FF 50 [irq/64-xhci_hcd] root 366 FF 50 [irq/66-xhci_hc...

Re: Problems with Bitwig performance
Might be a try to add the threadirqs option to grub and give the IRQ thread of the USB bus to which your interface is connected priority. Maybe that would preempt the process that gets in the way of Bitwig. liquorix kernel does not have threadirqs. I have selected liquorix kernel in understanding t...

Re: Problems with Bitwig performance
Something seems to get in the way of your audio processing. What interface are you using? And which audio backend? PW, JACK, Pipewire? Jack as backend, and audio interface is M-Audio Fast Track Ultra. But it is not the backend or interface, because in guitar sound there is nothing wrong, it is just...

Problems with Bitwig performance
Recently upgraded my computer, old was i7-4770 and new is AMD Ryzen 7 3700X. Bit more cores and bit better single core performance, but main point was moving from SFF to full size so I can have real gpu and more hdd. Old was running debian 11 based devuan, new debian 12 based. For some reason, in ne...

Re: help needed, is my music repetative ?
Thank you, and your first lines are basically why I am having a big issue with understand the lmms dev, stating my track is repetitive. To me most music is repetitive. It is probably best for me, to ignore that. Yeah, there is plenty of repetitive music that still works. Like this https://www.youtu...

Re: Musician and Blender user selecting distribution
And now find out where tha crash happens. When rendering something where material is emitting light, gpu rendering will crash. For example lighthouse or torches in dungeon... There is also other things that cause crash. Have to admit, Vega 64 + Linux is just not working combination for Blender use....

Re: Carla and my Windows 10 VSTs ???
What are the realistic expectations of using Carla (or something like it) with my Windows VSTs? What I mean is does Carla use my VSTs and instrument libraries off my Windows 10 system? Or would I have to first use wine and install Kontakt on Linux, and somehow install Native or Spitfire's app on wi...
