Re: Start-up screen doesn't have option to change DE?
The software that provides a graphical login prompt (with a DE/WM selection) is a "display manager". I don't use a DE or a DM, but to change them you usually have to just have one installed (and manually start the service if using Arch afaiu) afaiu.

Would be worth making a request of QMidiArp for help in this; https://sourceforge.net/p/qmidiarp/feature-requests

One non-Free app that changed my Samsung phone Android life was https://galaxystore.samsung.com/detail/ ... dassistant which gives per app volume. I side-loaded from some random APK site. Can have quiet music behind audiobooks now.

Re: What session managers do people prefer?
For arguments, just use nsm-proxy, no?
I thought, before, that the "oh hell allowing arguments would make tracking the state of the system in relation to programming/behaviour/troubleshooting a nightmare" argument was good. Is that claim more an opinionated take?

Re: KXStudio: Claudia - Ladish
Does a SIGTERM (15) do it? always that before -9 so the app can gracefully exit, -9 pulls the rug out from under the process I guess it keeps running so the same status is returned/available when a LADISH app is reopened/opened? Maybe it should be a systemd unit, idk. NSM is the alternative solution...

Re: KXStudio: Claudia - Ladish
I asked in #kxstudio;
[17:40] <falktx> that is how ladish works
[17:41] <falktx> ladish has a dbus API, guis talk to the daemon process over dbus
[17:41] <falktx> starting a ladish tool will always spawn those services/daemons

As in https://www.hisschemoller.com/blog/2017 ... erator-1-2 https://github.com/hisschemoller/euclid ... -generator?
The GH header says there's a newer one https://github.com/hisschemoller/music- ... -generator would that suit instead?
