Befaco Lich

Not sure if this is the right subforum but I wanted to discuss Befaco Lich . It is a eurorack module which does DSP and can be loaded with Pure Data, Max Gen or Faust code (and C+ I think?). Anyway, the reason I'm posting it here is that the patch library has a number of open source names some of yo...

Re: What are you using for metering?

With 32 Bit float digital audio there is hardly any need to meter something, with some exceptions: Inside my DAW I use the compressor's and limiter's built-in meters to get a decent volume. Outside my daw I use ebumeter to get a feeling if I have enough and not too much loudness (everything between...

Re: Reaper and top Linux samplers as plugins: how to even set up?

I just proved many decent FOSS projects actually get quite a bit of yearly funding. But if that wasn't the case, I'd suggest you to redirect that question to Richard Stallman and anyone who's made a FOSS project before that didn't suck Maybe take this up with the devs for not providing documentatio...

Re: Reaper and top Linux samplers as plugins: how to even set up?

There is an option to set LV2 paths in reaper. I don't know if it additionally scans system set paths but it definitely has a list of paths you can manually set (I seem to remember having to set these to get some to show up).

Who says I 'always' use a daw?

No one said 'always' but you implied that you use a daw.

Currently, I only have time for one daw, Reaper

I don't get the point either. If you're using a daw then why wouldn't you want these to be vsts inside the daw?

What a2jmidid or the PW equivalent native implementation (the topic of this thread) have anything to do with the Qjackctl's connections (list) view is beyond my comprehension.

Didn't you know? We have to spam about how much we hate pipewire because of confused reasons every time it is mentioned!

Re: November Dub

Nice work lilith, I love the bassline when comes in, just perfect. All the synths sounds really good, squelchy and trippy as they should be. Definitely a different vibe from Om Unit's work in this area and I think you've done a fantastic job.

Re: MIDI negative latency

Oh sorry, I didn't recognise the pw-top output and thought you meant those were the settings in Reaper :) I don't know if it's something worth looking into but it seems odd that you get 0 for quant and rate. This is mine. Screenshot_20231203_191153.png I would get rid of that config and start again ...
