Re: Saunter
Agree with the Krautrock comment. :) This is a nice sound texture. I love your acoustic guitar tones mixed with electronic sounds. I think you are right about the mixing on this one, though. It does seem a little rough. The guitar sounds maybe a bit too "dry" to convince me that it is part...

Re: The Iron Rod
That was very interesting to see all of the European bowl-back mandolins. What a charming sound from an entire room full of mandolins! Thanks for sharing that. Mine is an American-style arch-top F-hole mandolin, more associated with bluegrass than with classical music. It was very inexpensive, and I...

Re: The Iron Rod
Thanks for your feedback, everyone. Michael Willis Haha, I'm glad you like the mandolin. It's a fun little instrument. A lot of my guitar skills carry over to it, but it is very different in some important ways. I like the sound of it, though, and the texture it adds to an acoustic piece. Someday I ...

Re: Flight Guarantee EP - electro-punk / art-pop
Thanks mate! I try to keep constant interest in a track, I like motion and sound design. Rarely do I use presets or samples of others, an exception being the drums of "antivirus city" taken from an early 80's casiotone I found in the fruitful garbage bin of the neighborhood. I listen to y...

Re: The Iron Rod
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
Having a collaboration keeps the fire under me. I used to take months to do a song, producing 3-4 per year. But working with my cousin and my kids it keeps more irons in the fire.

Re: The Iron Rod
Thanks, Rainmak3r! I was pleased with how this turned out. Yes, there are two "choirs," the family choir which sings the chorus and the backing vocals which are all me. The backing vocals are in four parts, with each part tracked in triple. It is a lot of fun to compose these parts and rec...

Re: Classical-style piano-driven piece of music
This is really nice! Thanks for sharing it. The piano sounds fantastic, and the other instruments are obviously synths. You said it was a piano midi recording - does that mean it is an acoustic piano that also captures midi, or did you render the piano with a sound font?

Re: Beginner - record songs via midi and music notation
Some people really love Rosegarden and get good use out of it. I would have mentioned it in my comment above, but I've never really liked it. You might get more mileage out of it than I have.

The Iron Rod
Here is my latest work: https://sanderson.band/2020/07/03/iron-rod/ It is a contemporary Christian folk arrangement of an old hymn. Two of my cousins helped this time, and all but the very youngest of my kids sang in the choir. I ended up with 28 vocal tracks, and during the mastering process this p...

Welcome back! Haven't seen you around for a while.
Nice, ambitious prog track! Impressive drums, as always. I also like the visuals on this one.

Re: Rated Blue "JOY" Album Released!
Solid work, GMaq! I've been enjoying "Chances Are" ever since you posted a RC here some weeks ago, and I just dig that tune. It is still my favorite, even after considering the other tracks on the album.
