Re: Rated Blue tracking live with Mixbus 32C

Yeah, then maybe local to a larger town/city. How far are you from T.O. ? If you're so far south, then maybe the other side of the border :o The music, the original compositions, would certainly be welcomed in a few pubs to start with. I mean, the band's not doing circonvoluted progressive art rock ...

Re: Rated Blue tracking live with Mixbus 32C

This is a welcoming style. Must be easy to find weekly gigs in any type of bar/food venue around town, get the name of the band in the local paper and then some.

Re: Commercial/Paid plugins

I've just finished my first production (with Ardour) and I used a lot of Calf, EQ10Q and LSP plugins. They all seemed great to me, but it is my first time using plugins (and a DAW and producing music in anyway), so I have not much to compare them to. Are there any commercial/plugins worth getting i...

Re: My First Song

For a first song/mix, this is quite good. Would be interesting to hear something 10 songs from now :)

EDIT: But this is not your first recording at all. You actually have many years of experience. :)

Re: Minor Particle

The idea is certainly great and part of the feeling was captured in that recording. All it would need is work in getting the sounds right, shaping the whole thing, balancing, adding some instruments perhaps, like a bass sound could make an appearance in the middle or so. For instance this is an impr...

Re: Is anybody from china here? Need help!

Brand: FEREX Model: FP07M063 OK, I'll switch back to 'local' mode. This will not solve the problem but you know, if you search in Chinese, like in using Baidu, you'll find. Such as: http://www.baidu.com/s?ie=utf-8&f=8&rsv_bp=1&rsv_idx=1&ch=&tn=baidu&bar=&wd=FP07M063&...

Re: Is anybody from china here? Need help!

However, a few years ago I needed to replace the speakers in my studio monitors. As it happened, I had to order from a Chinese supplier. I had no problems with the order - it was all done on-line, in English - and the speakers are still in use here. So at least in that case everything went down wit...

Re: Is anybody from china here? Need help!

In any case, the supplier in China might very well not sell it to you. You'd have to contact an electronic shop and there are A LOT of these that sells an incredible amount of parts but, they very likely will not do business with foreigners. Mostly because they would not want to get through the hass...

Re: Die Frau im Mond

Thanks for your feedback. I really wanted this sound and in the interlude I tried to set up some medieval feeling. I know that not everyone likes sounds like a (in this song used) schalmei or bagpipe. If it doesn't kill you it makes you harder  Ach, maybe some Extremo in there ? Not too mu...

Re: Dil-Keşîde Fasıl - وصلة دلكشده - (Relaxing Arabic Music for Harp)

It sounds strange to my ears since I am used to the tempered tuning of the western world. Can you tell me how you did the re-tuning of some noets? Did you tune the samples as appropriate and make a new sf2 soundfont? You can also look at the ' NEW SITE: Makam Music – Beauty and Diversity (with audi...

Persistence

Hello,

This one blends some longuish synth notes and pads with a contrasting rhythm and an acoustic feeling.

Persistence

Cheers.

Re: Dil-Keşîde Fasıl - وصلة دلكشده - (Relaxing Arabic Music for Harp)

In other words, not music to put on a CD to listen in the car while driving :)

Just joking. The maqam harmonies are rich in their interplay. Can you say something about the harmonies themselves, perhaps which tuning you have used ?
