Re: E-mu 0404 and getting nowhere...

These can be awkward to get working on Linux - I had some a long while back that I picked up for free (I don't think I even have a machine that would take them any more) - both looked identical, both worked under Windows, but only one would "work" under Linux, and only after reciting many ...

Re: execute .so

the point is to NOT have a separate binary executable.. for example, i could release one plugin_pack.so file, which contained several plugins, each in all the supported formats (ladspa, dssi, lv2, vst2, vst3), including standalone.... Ok that makes it clearer - however, I don't know about other use...

Re: execute .so

Perhaps I'm not fully understanding the question, but what's to stop you just creating a main.c or main.cpp file containing all the necessary (e.g. standard 'main' ) boiler-plate code which gets the (executable) up and running, creates an instance of your 'plug-in' and does whatever you need with it...

Re: OverTone DSP PTM-5A Mid-Range EQ V3.0.0

The point I meant to make was that a lot of people do find the software - but often, and for various reasons they might not get around to trying it - and that's not meant as a criticism of anyone, I'm just calling it how I see it - and it's just something we need to work very hard to overcome. Its a...

Re: OverTone DSP PTM-5A Mid-Range EQ V3.0.0

It seems the plug-ins are well liked by those who try them - which is gratifying, and in the general scheme of things they've not done badly at all, but one of the most frequent things I hear is "I wish I'd tried these sooner..." - With potential users often hesitant to even try a free dem...

Re: OverTone DSP PTM-5A Mid-Range EQ V3.0.0

I know it's insane, but part of me wishes you charged at least a little for upgrades... I'd be happy to oblige.. :) Actually I did once charge for additional (AAX) formats and I got hate mail for months... I've always believed that the software should offer value - I can't make it free, because it ...

Re: OverTone DSP PTM-5A Mid-Range EQ V3.0.0

Yes - we do have a facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/OverToneDSP/ - but that's about as far as it goes for social media (if I had a pound for every spam email I get promising to put my company on the 1st page of google, I could give up coding and retire - I'd like to see them do that for a gen...

did you put it up on a KVR forum also
There'll be a KVR news mention - but we just did one for the PTC-2A, and I think they have a 'fair use' limit on how many free news articles you can post in a certain time.

Re: OverTone DSP PTM-5A Mid-Range EQ V3.0.0

Now we just need some sales...

Come on linux musicians (or Windows and Mac users), its FREE to download and try - and only £20 to buy. Free updates and support, no extra hardware required, and most importantly, its a native Linux plug-in that actually works

Re: SOUL: The First Universal Sound Language

So... Faust is cool I guess. I prefer to think of these things as 'Rapid Application Development' tools, and by that I mean prototyping tools - something you can use to test an idea, before you commit time to coding it up and optimizing it in a real language like C / C++, (as God and nature intende...

Re: OverTone DSP PTC-2A Vintage Program EQ V3.0.1

do I have to delete v3.0.0? I've upgraded and rescanned plugins in Ardour and Reaper and only 3.0.0 is showing. If you use the installer provided, then it will just replace the previous .so file (if you install it to the same location). Otherwise, if you would prefer not to use the installer or it ...

Re: OverTone DSP PTC-2A Vintage Program EQ V3.0.1

Excellent, I think the level control was definitely needed. It would be great to see this on the FC70 as well. Its always been a bit contentious - personally I don't believe a level control is required, and that generally has been the view of other engineers, however I appreciate that a level contr...

Re: OverTone DSP PTC-2A Vintage Program EQ V3.0.1

In Renoise it seems to be linear by default.
I guess Renoise must be setting it to linear. It will default to mode 2 unless the host tells it something different (Presonus Studio One also appears to select linear mode)
