I think the original problem with the bad timing error is now solved -> version 2 is too old.

Ok, it worked for me too with the readme instructions for Ubuntu. I didn't try that first, because I don't use Ubuntu. Thank you. Edit: I was too fast. I'm using ardour with drumgizmo as drumplugin. Although I loaded the corresponding midimap.xml file to the drumgizmo plugin it doesn't show the name of the instrument - see screenshot. It only shows the note 'F#2'
