Re: Kemper VS Helix
Yeah, I run them with Wine and Yabridge just fine. Only annoying problem is that Helix Native doesn't have HiDPI support, so font is microscopic on my 4K screen, but still somewhat readable. Both Amplitube and Neural DSP have good UI scaling though. Thanks for the reply! I'd tried to run Helix Nati...

Re: Kemper VS Helix
I've been playing with plugins Helix Native, Amplitube and Neural DSP. Neural DSP sounds the best to my ear, so now I am curious about the Quad Cortex floor unit as well, but ѕhit, it costs a fortune. I wish they had smaller versions like Line 6 does. Do you run the Helix Native and Neural DSP in L...

Re: Kemper VS Helix
I have a Line 6 HX Stomp that worked out of the box as interface in Linux. Never tried the Kemper, though.

Re: Noise Problems
Reading the manual... If you use the Stomp box USB interface and plug guitar into input L/mono then there is dry guitar on USB input 5 in your computer and processed audio on USB input 1-2 and 3-4. You can eliminate the Focusrite and the DI. Have you tried this? Is the sound quality from the Stomp ...

Re: Noise Problems
Thanks everyone for the responses! finotti I'm not familiar with the particular hardware you are using, but the symptoms definitely sound like a ground loop: the HX Stomp is sending signal to channel two of the Focusrite interface which is "ungrounded" compared to the signal from the DI to...

Noise Problems
I've been having some noise problems recently. Although it seems that it's been fixed, I have thought that before and it keeps coming back. My setup is the following: guitar connected to a passive direct box (Radial’s ProDI ). From the output it goes to the first input of the interface (2nd generati...

It would be nice indeed.... (If it doesn't break anything.)

Re: Snare with cymbal sitting on top
I've seen it and bought the CD right away! (My friends make fun of me when I say I buy CDs, but I am old...) Really great stuff!

Re: Snare with cymbal sitting on top
Sorry, I cannot help you here, but this video is truly fantastic! I love the song itself, Larnell Lewis is fantastic, and the keyboard solo at the end is just mind blowing!

Re: Noise issues
So, I tested a long cable and away from the computer, and I still had a lot of noise... So, I got my (passive) DI box to try, and the noise was down to expected levels! But: when I tried again plugging in directly to the interface (Focusrite 2i2 gen 2), the noise was down too! It was connected at th...

Re: Noise issues
Thanks for the replies! Add a noise gate to your signal chain. I have one but disabled to find out what is happening... It sounds like compression. The noise hasn't actually gone -- it's been pushed down in level by the signal. There could be a compressor somewhere in the chain, or it could be down ...

Noise issues
I am having some weird noise issues recording the guitar. There is a reasonable amount of gain, so noise is to be expected. But what is weird for me (and I am not sure if this is actually usual) is that the noise goes away when I play a note. It is not that the sound of the note covers the noise, th...

Re: [ANN] Linux Music and Open Source stream!
That was hard, especially improvising in english but here it is: https://youtu.be/cxaNRyiHr2E It was nice to see your workflow. (I turned out to be very similar to mine. Great minds think alike and all that...) ;-) I was surprised you don't use tamgamp. I really like it and despite having other goo...

Re: Black Screen
I bit the bullet and bought a video card... And, indeed, the plugins work now. $ inxi -G --display Graphics: Device-1: AMD Cape Verde PRO [Radeon HD 7750/8740 / R7 250E] driver: amdgpu v: kernel Device-2: Logitech Webcam C270 type: USB driver: snd-usb-audio,uvcvideo Display: x11 server: X.Org 1.20.1...

Re: Black Screen
So, I decided to test it in my work computer, and it (MODO DRUM) ran just fine in it... Maybe indeed the video card in my home computer is too old. Here is the home card: $ inxi -G Graphics: Device-1: Intel Xeon E3-1200 v3/4th Gen Core Processor Integrated Graphics driver: i915 v: kernel Device-2: L...
