Re: Cat Dragged Me In
I know newbies are very welcome here. Otherwise Rob had good suggestions, too. I would feel comfortable asking in the ubuntu forums, as well. Linuxquestions forum might be another possibility. Just found this tutorial :http://libremusicproduction.com/tutorials/linuxsampler-and-ardour-using-them-toge...

Re: Cat Dragged Me In
Hello, I know in the beginning everything can be overwhelming. I have gone on youtube and found how-to videos for many linux audio software. If you do a search in the forum you can find some answers, too. I found quite a few nice videos about ardour5. Ardour has its own way of doing things, but can ...

Re: Convert a song into music sheet
Hello, In a earlier thread this link: https://musescore.org/en/node/25785 was a way to do this, I believe. I almost got it working last night using my yamaha keyboard. Did not totally get the connections right in patchage since I am not using qjackctl as was in these instructions. I want to try this...

Re: Presonus Firestudio Mobile setup
Glad you have something working for you. Bet it sounds good, too.
If you ever want to try jack again I may be able to help you with it. By the way, I had to give up on ffado so I did the opposite that you did, and enabled
snd_dice. It works great for me with jack.
Enjoy your sounds.

Re: Presonus Firestudio Mobile setup
I do not have experience with alsa and pulseaudio without jack with my firewire device. However, when I first got the new stack(snd-dice) working, I was using alsa only and using audacity to test. It worked well that way, but was limited for me without jack. I would believe you could use pulseaudio,...

Re: Presonus Firestudio Mobile setup
Hello, I was using ffado for years with my Behringer fca202 firewire card. After many updates about a month ago ffado would not work with my fca202. I then decided to try the new stack which involves the module snd-dice. It required blacklisting the old firewire modules in this file: $ cat /etc/modp...

Re: After updates no sound at all with firewire (ffado)
Hello Everyone, I am happy to say I consider this solved. I ended up finding out that the solution for me was to blacklist the old firewire stack and to use the new one instead. Found out how to enable snd-dice for my fca202. There were many trials and errors, but in short, the steps were: disable o...
