Most of the recordings done in Mixbus 3 on AV-Linux. All mixing in Mixbus. The mastering engineer used FL Studio though.

Re: AV Linux 2018... what kernel do ya want for default??
Really looking forward to avl2018. On current setup I tried to do go from Debian and do all the audio adjustments myself but didn't really have the patience and knowledge to make it as fast and furious as the real thing;)

Re: New release: Flash of a Smile
Awesome stuff, I liked the songs before but that album is giving them the right kind of framing and style. My go to soundtrack for taking the kids to the playground.

Re: [SOLVED] kxstudio-meta-wine installation fails
Hi Koriakos, how do I go about it? It doesn't really work for me - I can't install wine, gives me the wine32 - problem. When I want to install wine32 I get the libtheora0 problem and that's it. Thanks for any insight, Ben It seems there is a conflict with pulseaudio and wine32 in Debian . As a worka...

Re: Boss RC-300 loopstation (no audio)
Hi all, well even if this is just a half-decent workaround solution: Is there a way to make this permanent in my installation? Also: Why does the device work on older kernels (3.something?)
Thanks for any insights!

Re: AV Linux 2018... what kernel do ya want for default??
Thanks Glen for your hard work, have benefitted a lot from AVL. Hope 2018 things work out better for you. I can't really say anything from experience about the difference in both kernels in terms of speed but i really think one millisecond more in latency wouldn't hurt anyone. So if differences are ...

Re: MUSICHA- A pre-crowdfunding Linux audio laptop
If I get it, it's not supposed to be a device for home recording but rather targeted at live music and video streaming. For that purpose I find the dock quite a good design because once the show is running you really want to have these knobs available. I'm not sure whether musicians are OK with the ...

Re: Decent but inexpensive powered near-fields
You might try to trade the big HIFI-Speakers for small ones + 35 bucks and then buy this little amp to drive them: https://www.amazon.com/Dayton-Audio-DTA-1-Digital-Amplifier/dp/B001PNOH2I That would be no-cost then. I'm using this on my trusty oooldeee AIWAs. Sounds great to me, very crisp transien...

Re: Studio mics IR
The Slate VMS is an example that you can actually model microphones very well. My personal experience on listening to different microphones with similar polar patterns is that they mainly differ in frequency response, proximity effect, saturation and in the way they handle transients. I have no clue...

Re: Studio mics IR
If I was a plugin developer with time on hand I'd try the following approach: design a plugin that does three things: 1. eq 2. transient designer 3. Saturation. I think that these three parameters could be used to make a good mic sound close to a lot of different mics - you could have presets for di...

Re: vinyl plugin
Great, will have to check this one out. I think the Steve Harris one was ok, but I've always thought it could be a bit more authentic compared to i.e. GarageBand's Vinyl effect. Calf studio tools are amazing!

Re: Releasing the "source code" of music
No didn't want to offend you 42, I'm sorry that I have! But I want to learn. I'm a secondary school teacher and amongst other things I teach world religions and so far I haven't found the idea of Buddhism being 6000 years old. So that's interesting to me. I'm really not interested in any trolling go...

Re: Screaming amp simulation ideas?
This is just valve Amp Feedback. Should work if you Use an electric guitar or microphone in combination with a guitarix amp sim (a distorted preset or make your own) and loudspeakers: use the git or mic as input on guitarix, dial in an overdriven setting and then move the guitar/microphone slowly to...

Re: Releasing the "source code" of music
Yeah but that wasn't Buddhism then. It's like saying Christianity or Islam date back to the 3rd century BC or saying Rock'n'Roll is from bronze age when they probably invented cymbals;) Yeah we're getting quite off topic here :o What? Buddhism 6000 years old? How can that be if Siddhartha Gautama li...
