Re: Best fully-FLO WebAudio apps?

That stuff looks neat, but the only thing I see looking through it so far is AudioMass (which I knew of already) in terms of good enough to be just tell people to use it. I'm hoping there's something like https://metronom.us/en/ but FLO (or some way to convince the maker of that to release the code)...

Best fully-FLO WebAudio apps?

With so much done in web apps these days, WebAudio and all, I really want a list of full-Free/Libre/Open apps to mention to people. So, synths, drum machines, metronomes, tuners, even sequencers and audio recorders. There's so much. Most of the stuff out there is proprietary, and some of it is crapp...

Re: Focusrite Scarlett 2nd and 3rd Gen mixer driver

When people get the 5.14 kernel in a fully-supported OS version, will the modprobe settings still be needed as an extra step?

Re: Focusrite Scarlett 2nd and 3rd Gen mixer driver

incidentally, a while back I mentioned having reduced capacity for going below 128 for buffer on my 18i8 3rd gen. I realized now that the test kernels you built aren't marked low-latency. So, I'm guessing that's the whole issue. I'll have a full good result when the full release 5.14 is out enough a...

Re: Focusrite Scarlett 2nd and 3rd Gen mixer driver

This testing got me to embrace qasmixer and it is so much better for me. I suggest you install it and try it.

Re: Focusrite Scarlett 2nd and 3rd Gen mixer driver

One other minor issue: The entry that I think should be "Clock Source" is listed as "Clock Source Clock Source"

And one question: what is "Sync Status"? (It says Locked and it refuses to change if I try)

Re: Focusrite Scarlett 18i8 linux massive XRUNS

BUMP! I am having the same issue, 18i8 can't go below 128 buffer size but 6i6 could succeed all the way down to 32. Except… strangely enough, in my case the 18i8 that's failing to go below 128 is gen 3, and the 6i6 that works with 64 and 32 buffer sizes is gen 2. With the 18i8 gen 3, I have a possib...

Re: Focusrite Scarlett 2nd and 3rd Gen mixer driver

Oh my goodness, I've figured out what you're talking about, and it's hilarious. In AlsaMixer, "MM" doesn't mean "mute"! It means "Off", and "OO" means "On" which makes sense for an "enable" control but labelling it MM/OO is (to say the lea...

Re: Focusrite Scarlett 2nd and 3rd Gen mixer driver

I don't understand what you mean by "muting the mutes". Turning the mute on turns the output off and turning the mute off turns the output back on. Every mute button I've ever seen works like that, and certainly on the 18i8 Gen 2, 18i20 Gen 2, and 18i20 Gen 3 models which have physical mu...

Re: Focusrite Scarlett 2nd and 3rd Gen mixer driver

Some feedback on testing (with 3rd gen 18i8 and the .deb kernel release files on KDE Neon): Line 01 Mute (and 02 through 08 also) is confusing label because enabling them is muted, and **muting** the mutes is how to turn the output on. Would be much better to label them "enable" or "a...

Re: [ANN] Nootka 2.0 - final release

Congrats! I've added it to my task list to check out the update! My eventual dream wish would be for Nootka to support up/down ^v notation and tuning, specifically for 41-equal-temperament as I'm now using with the Kite Guitar. See https://en.xen.wiki/w/Ups_and_Downs_Notation I don't expect that any...

Re: Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 Gen 3

I just got an 18i8 3rd gen and wanting to get it working. I can record and get line outputs, but the Monitor knob does nothing and the headphones don't work. If those issues were resolved, I could probably just manage as is, even without the inst/pad/air/mixing features. Is there a way for me to jus...

Re: session management and *disconnecting* jack items?

I suppose the alternative should work: include the NSM session stuff in a script itself (although, annoyingly, that would require a new script for each session, but for some cases, it would be fine). So, I make a script that does the disconnect and loads the session. I make another script that close...

Re: session management and *disconnecting* jack items?

Thanks for clarifying! The idea of triggering something on load and close of sessions seems quite potentially useful. I'm imagining I could have a session run a script that sets all sorts of parameters (such as buffer size and device settings and so on), and it would be ideal to reset those when the...

session management and *disconnecting* jack items?

My default setup has jack connecting to the pulse bridge. I can get sessions with jackpatch to create new connections, but is there a way to have a session automatically *disconnect* something (in this case the direct jack to pulse-out, since I'm putting other stuff between them)? Ideally, I could h...
