Re: Dragonfly Room Reverb - Testers needed
And by "later" I mean I just tested it (Linux VST in Reaper). :D CPU is back to the same levels as in 1.1.4, yay! Drawing of the graph is fast too. I'll compare the Windows VST later too (on my Windows laptop) and let you know if I notice anything different. Yes I noticed that the late ref...

Re: Dragonfly Room Reverb - Testers needed
I just tried it, and it has 300% more CPU.
Just kidding. I'll try it a bit later though.

Re: Dragonfly Room Reverb - Testers needed
The fact that you double posted, then quoted yourself? I'd say that doesn't make sense. My CPU is more current and has some advantages compared to yours, despite only having 2 cores (instead of your 4 cores). So that would explain the relatively small differences in CPU readings in Reaper, wi...

Re: Dragonfly Room Reverb - Testers needed
I will try to remember that your name is Marco, and not Lilith. :) Yes I have noticed a similar thing about my CPU frequency per core or thread (since my CPU has hyperthreading and it shows as "cores"). I am guessing the exact frequency has a bit of fluctuation within a small tolerance. Yo...

Re: Dragonfly Room Reverb - Testers needed
Until ~1:00 there is no sound going through the plugin. With the Roomverb you also see the white bar bug. If you have questions or need more info, please let me know. The CPU load that you see in Renoise is the same like shown in Cadence. During your tests, is your CPU frequency governor set to &qu...

Re: Dragonfly Room Reverb - Testers needed
CPU usage in the Linux VST (in Reaper) is improved compared to the previous 1.9.0 beta, but still around 2.5x what it was for (hall) version 1.1.4. I sent a PM with more details.

Re: Dragonfly Room Reverb - Testers needed
Just in case you're wondering, Michael, the tests I did in Reaper (Linux and Windows): the CPU measurements were done with signal and without (the readings were approximately the same, a tiny bit higher with signal going through them).

Re: Dragonfly Room Reverb - Testers needed
When I saw the high CPU usage I was specifically referring to the latest versions of both plugins. (I assumed you were, too.) Version 1.1.4 is the previous version of Dragonfly (Hall) prior to the disambiguation of Dragonfly by adding "Hall" to its name (and the addition of the Dragonfly R...

Re: Dragonfly Room Reverb - Testers needed
Using the Linux VST version in Reaper of either plugin, I get around 5% CPU. RT CPU is around 2%. (This is when I set my CPU governor to "performance" so it's at max operating frequency, just so I'm not getting a skewed number which might mean "40% of whatever frequency the CPU is cur...

Re: Dragonfly Room Reverb - Testers needed
That might be tricky since I can't load the ProG plugin in Linux. My laptop still has Windows 7 so I'll see if I can get a setting for ProG using that. I'll also load Hibiki because I'm sure you want me to make suggestions for controls to add to that too.

Re: Dragonfly Room Reverb - Testers needed
I'm in. :) It seems to be working fine for me so far (Linux VST in Reaper). I see the controls are fairly limited at the moment. To get my favorite settings in ProG, I had to adjust more controls, although I had been using it more as a "very smooth hall reverb". So far I'm able to get a ni...

Re: Spicing up existing vocals
I'm glad to help, although I wish I could've been more specific. It's less about plugins at this point, I'm guessing, especially if you need to change the timing of the parts. Different DAWs work differently with their editing but I guess you can look for things like "transient detection" ...

Re: Spicing up existing vocals
Compression is not the only answer. Of course. I didn't mean to say that it was the only answer. I search for those kind of tricks especially for vocals. Those kind off tips with same definitions already exist more then enough but for windows and Apple, and now i am looking for the linux ones. Noth...

Re: Spicing up existing vocals
Zoco: I will assume in this post that you're not trolling. In that case, you're not as experienced as you claim whether you realize it or not. You said "I know about compressors and how to work with them", then you said "I think compressor will only give more gain". Anyone who ha...
