Re: [ANN] yabridge 5.0.4, with a hotfix for plugin groups

Love your work. I'm curious if anybody knows of any compatibility settings to get the Gforce Minimonsta2 and Oddity3 plugins working? At the moment when I open the vst2 or vst3 version of the plugins reaper crashes with no sound. I'm running the most recent 5.0.4 Yabridge in Manjaro, with the lates...

Re: USB audio interfaces mute when Ubuntu Studio 22.04 reboots - weird

I have experienced similar issues that I effectively worked around by unplugging the USB cable from my interface and plugin it back in after a restart. I am running manjaro and it's more up to date software versions have fixed the problem since then.

Re: Odd Distorted Audio Issue in Ubuntu Studio 23.04

I went to troubleshoot my own situation and realised that the boot up issue has resolved itself but the issue when stopping and closing jack has not. Periodic updates must have fixed it. For anyone who wants to compare software versions my system is running the following. Linux 6.2.12, pulseaudio 16...

Re: Odd Distorted Audio Issue in Ubuntu Studio 23.04

an example of an audio app that doesn't use pulseaudio that wouldn't involve starting jack to troubleshoot? ocenaudio allows you to select pulseaudio, jack, or alsa from its settings for audio system. So you can check all 3 with that app to see if the problem is with pulse or jack, or whether it's ...

Re: Odd Distorted Audio Issue in Ubuntu Studio 23.04

Does it happen with all apps, or just apps that use pulseaudio? In the apps that are affected, can you set them to use alsa directly? And if so, does the problem disappear when you do? On my system it is present at bootup until I unplug the USB from the audio interface and plug it back in, and pres...

Re: Odd Distorted Audio Issue in Ubuntu Studio 23.04

I have the same issue in Manjaro with the stock kernel. It's been ongoing for a year through multiple updates and showed the same behaviour in an avlinux live trial. I've never found a fix other than unplugging the interface. Mine does the same thing after turning off jack as well.

It seems that this is somehow related to the kernel version. 5.16.0-18.1.liquorix-amd64 is ok. 5.19.0-14.1-liquorix-amd64 causes the above mentioned problem.

Is there a workaround other than plugin and unplugging that you are aware of?

Re: Is there an easy way to restart the sound card in AvLinux MXE?

I should mention, for my problem anyway, that I have to do the same thing when I restart my system or I get no sound at all. This is compared to when I stop and the quit qjackctl I get crackly and distorted audio that isn't particularly loud. It must be some sort of error in how pulseaudio or alsa a...

Re: Is there an easy way to restart the sound card in AvLinux MXE?

Frustrating if the sound card is installed in a rack. And pc is in a tight spot. I wish there was a more sophisticated method Yeah, I haven't had the time to dig too deep into the problem myself though it seems like a simple problem. If I can find the solution I will add the terminal command to my ...

I'm having the same issue in manjaro. I just unplug the USB and plug it back in and it works.

j_e_f_f_g you seem out of your depth here. Missing your point and disagreeing with it are very different things unfortunately. This really does seem like a you problem. If you are using a distribution where you have to compile binaries regularly and you don't want to do that try another distributio...

Re: We need a Linux Music Standard

Manjaro provides binaries for almost everything. Most of which are in the main repositories. The few things that aren't are mostly plugins from developers like uhe. These developers provide install methods for their apps that work well. The few that don't need their files placed manually. It's not d...
