jack - rare, single and very long xruns

My setup is Dell e6510 with TC Electronic Desktop Konnekt 6 firewire interface, working under stock Debian 10 with actual rt-kernel. Basically everything works very good and i don't experience "typical" xruns like clicks and pops, for example for simply audio playing i can get down to 16 f...

Re: Any guitarists have ideas for creating this effect with plugins? Shallow Water

Can't name actual plugins but for me it's simply regulated vibrato effect, like tape warble and of course EQ to do lo-pass and boost "booming" resonating frequency. Simply worn out analog tape machine effect.

Variety of Sound, LePou, Voxengo(only free ones tested), Kjaerhus classic series, Damage Audio Rough Rider and Ignite Amps with no tweaks in Reaper and Mixbus using LinVst, KxStudio wine-rt and LMDE2.

Re: Most used Linux distribution?

Does LMDE use the "Testing" branche of Debian? No, LMDE is based on Debian stable. It's true that stable goes pretty outdated just before new release arrives, but I've rarely had dependency problems with LMDE2. The only external repo I use is KxStudio, and rarely install anything from &qu...

Re: hey i need some help with recording!!!!

@Vrangor: I agree with a lot from here. But you should try LSP Impulse Reverb Stereo for impulses (instead of Ignite Amps' NadIR). It's native and works great! Yeah I choosed it pretty automatically together with Emissary and some stomps from Ignite Amps, previously I used LeCab but it didn't work ...

Re: Most used Linux distribution?

You could also go for 'ye olde Ubuntu and use Mate with that one. You can install and use pretty much any desktop environment you want in any Linux distro. You choose in the login screen which DE you'd like to use, set it default etc. Good luck. Yes I know, but although i don't have to do it everyd...

Re: Most used Linux distribution?

As far as Mint LMDE2 is usable I'm gonna use it as together with MATE is best for me. LMDE3 is only with Cinnamon which turned out to be a slasher for jack-firewire audio, and messing up with installing MATE on top of it is rather not an optimal way. Probably my next will be pure Debian with MATE.

Re: hey i need some help with recording!!!!

Hi! If you can use FireWire interfaces, I'd suggest Konnekt6 from TC Electronic. You can get second hand really cheap and it's great for guitar or vocals with hi-z guitar input, phantom power for mics and great preamps. For DAW, next to Ardour or Mixbus I'd recommend Reaper, very powerful and system...

Re: Array of Issues in Recording Music Through Mint

Hi! Have You managed to solve the problem yet? For some time I've been using Reaper under Mint LMDE2/wine without any problem. Try installing jack, wineasio, kxstudio-wine-meta, kxstudio-default-settings, and cadence instead of qjackctl if You haven't tried yet. All from kxstudio repo. Maybe this wo...
