Re: How do I write drum notation?

The problem is, there is no standard drum notation other than midi, which is not used by real players :)

If you do printout-drumnotation and midi-drumnotation at once you mostly need a "convert my notation" script.

All this possible in http://www.denemo.org

Re: Idea for a new notation editor

I will forward this to the Denemo mailing list. Denemo is the Notation-Editor which has already many unique and innovative features and the scripting-interface is very powerful. Additionally we work closly with lilypond. So when it can be done with lilypond it can be done more easier with Denemo. Nils

GNU Denemo 0.8.2 release (Help needed)

http://www.denemo.org The source tarball for the 0.8.2 (stable) release is now available. Also uploaded is a binary built for Windows. A lot of bugs were fixed and several new features were added. We also prepared Denemo for further midi-interaction. But to make Denemo a full notation-midi-sequencer...

Re: Many notation editors

I would urge the Denemo team not to forget us keystrokers, for whom using a mouse for pretty well anything is restrictive, slow, and a digital boat anchor around the throat of fast and efficient workflow. The philosophy of Denemo is to use the Keyboard. But anyway, the Shortcut and Keymappingsystem...

Re: Denemo jack-qsynth playback

Yes, I know the answer very well. Currently there is no way to connect Jack to any live-synth/sampler because Denemo has no Livemidioutput (there is jackmidi-input). Currently any midi is done via pre-rendering and playback. This is the one major "contra" for Denemo and we are searching fo...

Re: Finale vs. Sibelius on Linux :(

Yes. www.denemo.org Its the one tool which is purely designed for making lilypond easier. It has direct visual respond (of course) and the next release will feature direct audio output, even on other things than notes, if you wish. Plus there will be some features concerning midi input with a few tr...

Re: Many notation editors

To the pure lilypond users: I'm asking myself if you use lilypond in textmode to actually composer your music, directly from your brain to the computer or do you only transfer music from paper. For me I need the compose option and I don't want to use paper. I don't need to hear the notes but I need ...

Re: Many notation editors

My vote for Denemo. It is a bit redundant to have Denemo and Lilypond in the same voting.. Its Denemo because its a)lilypond . As the two lilypond-voters (until now) certainly would agree its produces just the best output. Since Denemo is mainly a GUI for lilypond its the same output. And I don't li...
