Re: Ubuntu studio vs Kubuntu (+kxstudio repos). Advantages and disadvantages?
Hi Everyone, I am about to install a new distro to setup with Reaper. I was initially planning on installing kubuntu, but I wanted to check in if there are major advantages or disadvantages compared with ubuntu studio that I should be aware of. I'm just a beginner in with linux audio. Thanks! Edit:...

Re: Ultralite AVB
Sorry to hear that. If I remember correctly someone else did get Motu to exchange their unit to an old version or take it back so maybe that's an option. If the new model is completely unusable in Linux we should spread the word to inform everyone. Out of curiosity, what buttons did you press to ent...

Re: Ultralite AVB
Regarding the stuck device.. Could it be that you have the new version of the Ultralite AVB that has the better AD chips ? ESS Sabre32 They probably changed the internals so the beta firmware doesn't work on the new model ? Motu support is excellent IMHO so you should be able to get it running again...

Re: Ultralite AVB
There is also a linux utility called latencytop that can help finding whats causing problems.. Okey, little update : the beta 1.3.4.558 works really good for me, just have to make the sample rate and buffer size changes from the motu web-app, latency is around 8 ms and had no stability issues, glitc...

Re: Ultralite AVB
I am using 1.3.4+558 which was one of the betas for their Touch Console Mixer and works quite well if you need newer firmware but not the ones that doesn't work. If you want to test it, let me know. /anders well... I’ve just bought yesterday an Ultralite AVB after having read this thread... So I kne...

Re: Surge synth testers wanted, also an LV2 version in the works
This thing is not working for me. I have Debian 10 since yesterday and tried to copy surge.so in my vst folder. ldd surge gives me: ldd Surge.so linux-vdso.so.1 (0x00007ffe639f9000) libcairo.so.2 => /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libcairo.so.2 (0x00007f250db42000) libfontconfig.so.1 => /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu...

Re: Anyone know how to do 9/8 in Hydrogen?
I don't have any love affair with Hydrogen going on. The aspects of Hydrogen which are currently important to me: b) Ability to edit note velocities easily. This is pretty important as I don't rely on "humanize" settings for everything. I tried doing some percussion editing in Ardour. The...

Re: Ultralite AVB
I created a ticket on the MOTU site regarding the buggy firmware in newer versions. Since they are so stubborn and insist in naming the operating system but offer only Windows and Mac I had to choose one of them and chose Windows 10 64 Bit. I am afraid they will ask how I made Windows using class c...

Re: Ultralite AVB
Anyone tested the 1.3.5+626 firmware regarding the prolem with weird samplerate-timing-drift that makes most previous firmwares unusable ? /Anders It's still decimating after a few minutes. Thanks for the report. Sorry to hear there is no change. The only thing my support requests to Motu has done ...

Re: Ultralite AVB
v1.3.5+626 is out. http://motu.com/techsupport/technotes/firmwarechangelog/ Implemented low bandwidth mode when both computer input and output channel count is set to 32 or lower. This will help USB compatibility with x99 chipset based systems. Hope that it solves something even without using x99 c...

REV1
I wonder if I am the only one missing REV1 a lot as Carla Internal and/or lv2 plugin? That was my goto reverb and used a lot in everything I did... Using the GxZita_rev1-Stereo works but does not bring back the warm feeling from the past.. The stand alone REV1 is still usable but it is not a plugin ...

Re: OverTone DSP V3 Vintage EQ Plug-ins - March 2019 update
I think this is completely valid Linux audio news and not advertising. There is a very hostile tone towards Mike that is unfortunate and I would personally like to see all Linux audio related news presented in this thread. I use a lot of open source plugins and also a lot of commercial ones too. I o...
