Re: Make Carla more elastic with interface names

Hi! Hello. I have a problem: my Carla virtual studio sometimes does not connect the plugins to my MIDI interface. The cause is that (for reasons that seem to be random) the interface is seen by Jack with a different number (e.g. [28], [32], etc) every time I restart the computer or plug in the cable...

Re: Quantizing *audio* tracks

You don't have to use the theme, there was an option to NOT use it and it was unchecked by default. The live system does have the dark theme, but it's optional after install. I know! And I like the theme, don't get me wrong. But Shuriken seems not to like it very much. (Is it a theme problem or a S...

Re: Quantizing *audio* tracks

It isn't in the KXStudio repositories yet because of its beta status but there are packages for various Ubuntu flavors and Debian and it builds quite easily. Tried it, and YES! It's exactly what I need. Just one problem: in KXStudio (with its default dark theme) it is impossible to see the waves, a...

More Carla errors on Ardour (both 4.1 and 4.2)

Hello, this might be related to the thread: http://linuxmusicians.com/viewtopic.php?f=47&t=14374 The difference is that this problem showed up in Ardour 4.1 as well. I have a MIDI track where I've recorded my piano, connected to Carla Rack as a plugin. In the rack there is a .sfz soundfont (Sala...

Quantizing *audio* tracks [SOLVED]

Hello! My drum track has some beats a little "off". Is there a program (DAW, plugin...) that syncs them to a grid? I can do that manually but it's incredibly long and tedious. I know there are such features in the commercial world...do we have it as well? (Please avoid arguments like "...

Ardour 4 crashes [SOLVED]

Hello. I'm having problems with Ardour 4 (with Jack - KXStudio). It crashes (leaving data unsaved) whenever I hit "Clean up unused tracks". Moreover, a couple of times it made the whole X session crash (the screen went back to kdm). Before I try to figure out what is going on, am I the onl...

Chorus - which one do you use?

Hello. I need a good chorus plugin, easy to use, and good quality.
What I mostly need is to add stereo presence to mono tracks (in addition to reverb).

What do you suggest/use?

Thanks!

Great work!

Btw, I think anyone with KXStudio could *really* use an icon that is visible on dark backgrounds.

Re: Writing MIDI utility plugins, where do I start?

Wow, so many possibilities! Please help me choosing the platform. Requirements: - LV2 (strictly) - either in c/c++ or, if dedicated language, easy and high level - realtime, better if without too much hassle - time and tempo management. I want it to create MIDI events at specified times (e.g. delays).

Writing MIDI utility plugins, where do I start?

Hello! There are a bunch of MIDI utilities that I would find quite useful. Since they are not around (at least, not in Linux afaik), and since it would be a little complicated to ask someone and explain exactly what I need, I decided to try to write them myself. They will be useful to everyone, when...
