Re: Cleaning up files ardour 3 (Making Smaller) + Another?
Thanks. I figured out how to move a portion of track over to expose the track underneath. Then I just clicked remove track till all the tracks under I didn't want were gone. Then did what you said and went to clean up under sessions and that seemed to work. I can't figure out how to get to a track u...

Cleaning up files ardour 3 (Making Smaller) + Another?
Just wondering if there was anyway to delete the unused tracks. The old takes underneath the takes I'm using in ardour. I know how to do it in the file but everytime I just go into the file and remove tracks I start having problems in ardour with it. Everytime I open up the file I get a missing file...

Re: Your Experience
See I kept getting errors trying to set up mono tracks. This was about a year ago so I will give it a shot. The whole reason I use ardour is such good program. It would be hard for me to use anything else. It's open source and I don't like the way paul does things but it still is open source. Its ju...

I don't use midi files either. I like ardour for laying down tracks and audacity for mastering. I'd like to use qtractor instead of ardour but the only time I tried it I could only get it to record stereo tracks.

Re: New KXS user...
Yeah it works good. Last song I put together I was running 1.3ms latency which works great with just ardour. I started running ardour and audacity at the same time for mastering and got a few xruns but running 2 daws at the sametime with a 2002 m audio delta 1010 at 1.3ms and just getting a few xrun...

Re: Session Management
How do I turn on the noself connect with ladish? I always thought ladish was something running in the background that I shouldn't care about but If I can make it so jack doesn't autoconnect that would be pretty helpful.

Check and see if it runs on the standard usb 2.0 drivers ever usb 2.0 device runs on. I think linux supports all usb2.0/ Its when you get in to pci and firewire where you have to start worrying.

Re: Alsa is sometimes shutting down.. Anybody with same prob
Sound breaks up with distortion sounds like static when using alsa. When using jack for recording it sounds fine it's just when I'm watching movies on the net or watching youtube. You sure it's ALSA? That's (also) a known Flash player bug... O_o No I'm not sure it's alsa. I know I have a laptop tha...

Re: Should KXStudio repos move to Debian?
I voted no. First of all, I currently use KXStudio with Ubuntu 13.04 and Unity. The performance of Unity has taken a step forward, it seems very fast now. I don't understand why it would be bad for audio production, unless you have an old machine. I have no problem with MIR either, it will probably...

Re: Alsa is sometimes shutting down.. Anybody with same prob
I think different audio drivers and sound cards react differently to the alsa bridge. on my m audio delta 1010. Sound breaks up with distortion sounds like static when using alsa. When using jack for recording it sounds fine it's just when I'm watching movies on the net or watching youtube. It could...

Re: The composer's toolbox
It's music your kind of over complicating things. The only thing you really need to compose music is your brian. Having a voice helps and if you have a musical instrument then your living the dream. People make it out to be rocket science but you get children walking around humming and singing songs...
