Do you listen to your own music?
Of course you do - when you record, when you perform, when you write. But do you listen to it like any other music you listen to? There are writers who don't read a text after they have finished writing it, actors who don't watch their finished movies, but what about musicians? I am curious, please ...

No, I didn't move it. It loads fine here. I don't know what it could be, sorry. If you want, I could send it to you via e-mail.

Thanks a lot, Dave. It sure does!StudioDave wrote:Nicely done, Jan, it should have got you to first base, at least.
Best,

It's in 5/4 at the beginning, which can be a worry with some girls. But since my gf is a prog rock nut, I can cover all bases even with odd time signatures!

Re: The Collector
I like it! Sometimes it sounds a bit like Jordan Rudess, especially the beginning. It has an 80's vibe, which I like.
But you are right, it sounds a little thin. I don't know if you know Jamin yet, it could help.

Size doesn't matter
Again, a tiny idea that came out of nothing. Since my girlfriend wants me to record a guitar arrangement of "Scarborough Fair" for her, I am in an acoustic mood. This is what I came up with while working on said arrangement. Hope you like it. I do.

Re: humanizing hydrogen
Deleting the high hat where a cymbal is used will not only break the pattern it will make the whole thing a little more as it should be. Hope this helps? Chippy. Thanks for the tip! It sounds obvious, but I have not looked at it this way and therefore have a hard time programming Hydrogen. Less is ...

Re: The Best of Best Apps For Creating Music On LInux
Completely unrelated to the thread topic, but since we are speaking of LS and related apps: I am searching for a soundfont or gig-file of a Hardanger Fiddle (or Hardingfele in Norway). Didn't find anything, my otherwise strong googling power has failed me here, it seems. Or isn't there anything? I d...

Thanks, Dave. That means a lot. Seems I didn't forget all of what I knew about writing.

Re: Building a Hammond
I have the confirmation that it is a C3! It was bought used in the 70`s, so it could easily be built in the 60's. My father even could remember that he helped to disassemble it ca. 1980. So this thing laid in a basement for roughly as long as I live. I can't wait to get this baby running and build a...

Re: a little video study
Somehow this music reminds me of my days as a teenager, when I consumed... never mind!
It sounds and looks awesome! Good for relaxing. Thank you.

Re: Guitar Rig
Yes, yes!! My Tele has an all maple neck, so no rosewood fretboard. I love it. I love it so much that my home studio will be all maple too (floor and desk, IKEA otherwise it becomes a bit too expensive). I love birdseye maple. My strat has a neck with it. But I have to say that the most beautiful g...

Quick & dirty
It seems that my last posting was kind of a failure since the MP3 somehow didn't end up on my webserver. The little idea grew somewhat into something I am not really sure of if it's good or bad. The playing is not very good, but I only wanted to capture things that came into my head. The real playin...

Re: Hydrogen is awesome.
Yeah, you are absolutely right. I am certainly a non-drummer and I had to learn the hard way that less is more, but I am impressed by Hydrogen. It took some time to get a good sounding kit (using he GSCW now). I like very natural sounding kits, a la Sting or Porcupine Tree, and with Hydrogen even I ...

Building a Hammond
A friend of my father has a disassembled Hammond and offered to give it to me for free! :D I don't know the model yet (I suspect it's from the 70's, maybe B3 or C3), but I know that I have to build a casing myself. Everything is there, with diagrams how to build it, and I am very excited. I don't kn...
