Re: Windows VST GUI not refreshing

Curious to see what's the problem I tried to install the demo version of GForce Software's M-Tron Pro IV. That won't even respond to clicking on the button 'Run Demo' to run the demo ha ha. Oh well... I had an issue with Imposcar2 for a while, mouse pointer would disappear when I hovered any...

Probably thanks to Kott, it is in the repositories.

It installs fine, but I get stuck at midi instrument, when I want to add a midi track.

Right now it says no instrument, need to figure out what that is about. :)

We talking Ardour or Qtractor?

Re: Accurate MIDI recorder low on resources

midish ? Command line only. High learning curve. Once properly configured and if you use the "Extra RC" ( link webppage , link archive ). When midsh is set up, example (r = record, s =stop, p = play): $ midish [0000:00]> rnew my_midi_keyboard my_synthesiser [0000:00]> r [0000:00]> s [0000...

[...] Somebody on openSUSE is installing Qtractor. Music making should be fun, not one big fight. From screen shot I already saw stuff I liked better then what I see in Adour. I might not give up on Ardour yet, but I am also not blind for already two people in this topic suggesting Qtract...

A message is "stuck" in the outbox again... Does it, indeed, go from outbox to sent if it read? :?:

Maybe I should try those too. Can they time stretch though ? That's how I ended up with Ardour. An American who can play guitar and want me to add drums to his guitar play. [...] Oh, I remember now. I didn't mention KX, because to me it was not clear what exactly it is. Thanks for mentioning it clear. I think one could still use it though, no? Yes. You can definitely still use the KXStudio repositories . As a matter of fact most Linux musicians do. I recently switched from the latest Carla ver...

Re: Please help me install Midieditor (dependency difficulty)

Are we talking about this midieditor that one has to install from an external .deb package and not from Ubuntu's standard repositories?: http://www.midieditor.org/index.php?category=download If so, your distro (Ubuntu 22 'Jammy') may not have Qt5 installed per default... Neither does it have the doc...

Re: Ubuntu Studio vs LinuxMint 21.3

Those are the two things i use multimedia distros for (a) look what is out there b) add what is not in the default repos). Yeah, one advantage of a specialized distro for music could be software availability in its repo. They could pack more, and more up-to-date stuff. That said, the only pro-audio...
