Re: Crossing the Arch

do a sudo pacman -Syyu
then sudo pacman -S xf86-video-ati

That's all I use. the Intel may need to compile the driver for rt support.
I have both the rt and regular kernel working with xf86-video-ati...
the latest xf86-video-ati gave me compiz and KMS...but I've been using it for sometime now..

Re: Crossing the Arch

for the rt kernel and other audio apps: Repositories We have a total of three binary “repos” on our server. For now only our testing repository is really active, but we recommend adding all of them to /etc/pacman.conf (replace i686 with x86_64 for 64-bit): # tried and tested packages [archaudio-stab...

Re: Crossing the Arch

I've tried them all and Gentoo or Arch seems to be the best for audio once you get them going... Fedora, Ubuntu, etc are way too bloated, well for me at least. And I figure if Arch runs so well on a slower machine, imagine what a faster machine can do.. the performance I get on this AMD 1.7GB XP2000...

Re: Competition: Create best hydrogen drumkit

cool man.. you do know what I mean by multi-layer right? Just in case, it's samples of each drum hit at different velocity to create a more natural or real sound... works great with the humanizer

Re: [ANN] guitarix-0.07.0

same but different... yeah it's an amp sim and you can control things via midi I think and yeah it uses guitar cabs IR files(you need to download freely from sites where available) and you can also use it's own tone. You can mess with it to create sims of other amps but guitarix is something of it o...

Re: Impulse convolver/guitarix

hey brummer, good to have you back. haven't heard from you in sometime... I think you're right... for some reason, an IR files I used once seems to launch which was about 512k. it was never an issue before... cpu usage is low and the mem I let guitarix select. this one is an average size I use: medi...

Great for sampling a real kit... are you multi-layering it? That's the best way to get the real kit sound. If yeah, will you make the samples available?

Re: jconvolver and jack_convolve

you're right morko. that's the way vsts work but as thorgal and brummer explained to me a while back, this is not easy to do. zita-conv and jconvolver will not allow it to work like say kefir or sIR or the other vst apps that load IR files. that's why I started this thread to see in jack_convolve wo...

no, brummer said no... I've been testing guitarix almost since day one for brummer and every once in a while I'd ask and the answer is still no..
