Re: Drumgizmo takes long to start and makes a big ruckus when it does - know issue?

Thank you so much for confirming it's a DG thing. I've tried opening a blank project, inserting my Drumgizmo template, then opening the track, and when I do that, I've seen the progress bar getting filled and finishing. Then I tried doing the same with my big fat project where I have the problems......

Thank you for your reply, that at least proves me that I exist.

When you say "moving" the post, you mean there's a way of moving this thread over there, or do I have to do a copy paste and then erase this one? Just in case there's an easy way I don't know...

Drumgizmo takes long to start and makes a big ruckus when it does - know issue?

Hi, like the title says, whenever I start a DAW session (Reaper), the Drumgizmo track (LV2, also happens with VSTs) is silent at first, then after a variable amount of bars there is a big chaos of all the drum instruments bursting at the same time or randomly, and after that the drumming turns norma...

Re: Behringer U-Phoria UMC22 or Zoom U-22?

Strange. I used to have a UMC22, it showed that HW:CODEC USB AUDIO CODEC thingie (it's like a generic name, it often shows that for many audio interface), and the guitar just worked, I think it worked using any of the two variants just the same. In which section of the qjackctl menu are you selectin...

@bulevardi

I'm bumping this thread to provide my grain of sand for the desired update:

Thank you for this initiative :)

Re: Penguin Win Situations

Creating that Linux music playlist is a good idea. I'm curious, could you direct me to it? (To the Soundcloud one, my religion forbids me to use Spotify :P )

Re: The importance of designer presets in libre synths

Interesting debate. I have the impression that there are two camps among synth users: those who are perfectly happy using presets, and those who feel using presets is almost like "cheating", being lazy... I myself am perfectly happy when I find out of the box a preset I can use, because fo...

Re: Penguin Win Situations

It sounds very cool. I sometimes use Odin 2 too, it's a very good synth, sounds good and, also very important for me, it has very good instruments, I like being able to just choose and not messing around too much with sound design... I like a lot the drop in tempo that starts ~ minute 3. You do that...

Re: Some my music videos

Nice videos, great creativity... Thank you for sharing, I enjoyed it. For me, the darkest one is "Deformation", squashing the lady's face like that... I found it difficult to stomach... I find the music quite somber, I have to say (although with great punch and sound design), it is certain...

Re: Should volume knob be separate from power switch?

@PongPoku: you have a point about the possibility that they combined both functions for design reasons. I hadn't thought of that. It's true that the amp looks very modern and minimalist... But I'd also prefer to have two controls. In matters of design, perhaps because the sense of sight is so persua...

Re: AI revolution now!

Thank you for the explanations. I'm slightly less confused now. Still not convinced that this stuff is much more than a rebranding of already existing stuff, but I guess it'll be as simple as waiting a few months and see.

Re: AI revolution now!

I don't understand the drift this thread has taken, but I do would like to understand a bit more what AI is. I watched a demo of ChatGPT, and all it seemed to me was an interface that pretty-prints Internet results better than a search engine, making them look more "conversational", but in...

Re: Should volume knob be separate from power switch?

Joining volume + power into one button seems to me a measure at the service of the manufacturer, not of the user. A way of cheapening cost, akin to having "integrated" graphic cards (that they very cunningly market avoiding the word "shared"): the graphic card mooches RAM off the...
