Re: Neural Amp Modeler LV2 GUI

The NAM-LV2 repo Hmm, I'm a n00b in this... but I wasn't able to make this build, following the readme. I followed all the steps there, but then I got errors in my terminal: CMake Warning: No source or binary directory provided. Both will be assumed to be the same as the current working directory, ...

Re: EZDrummer alternative?

I currently use the AVL Drumkits For some reason I use all the available kits at once, playing simultaneously together. It gives a me a more full warm sound. I'd love to use Hydrogen, never tried,... but it seems it's not possible to use in-DAW like a VST. So you can export to WAV and put that in yo...

Open source and made with JUCE, so it "could" work on Linux.

Text to Synth

We already know text to speech .... but yesterday I came across Text To Synth. A software that generates a synth based on a text description. https://fadr.com/synthgpt Alas, it's not open source, and it's paid... But maybe there are alternatives already for Linux? Or maybe under devolopment already?...

Re: [Ambient] Dreamy Electronics

It'll be something for later when I have more time. I'm currently quite busy with learning this Surge XT synth, which is already a beast... But I don't have any understanding from modular things. the VCV Rack looks something nice too, but Bespoke looks a step more complicated. When I'm ready for thi...

Re: [Ambient] Dreamy Electronics

Very interesting!!
Wished I could work with Bespoke too... but it seems so complex at first sight.

Re: Looking for a working stand alone Sequencer

Last week I stumbled upon Stochas.
It might be a solution for you aswel to try out...

https://surge-synth-team.org/stochas/

It works standalone aswel - but I only tried it in the DAW to connect my synth, still have to figure out all possibilities later.
Handy to layer things quickly.

Re: Stochas multi-layered step sequencer with easy scale and probability input

I see in the Patch Options at the bottom, you can set the randomization to stable. It can be an interesting idea that once you have a nice sounding pattern, you can hit a button to stabilize it and export this pattern to midi, and drag the midi around in your DAW, so you can edit it there in piano r...

Re: Surge-XT V2

I don't think there is (at least I've not yet discovered) a way to have a "classic" arpeggiator in the sense you hold a chord and the arpeggiator will cycle through the chord's notes. However how you already discovered you can arpeggiate single notes using the step sequencer. I just stumb...

Re: Surge-XT V2

It's worth to read the Surge XT manual to understand how to use it: https://surge-synthesizer.github.io/manual-xt/#step-sequencer In short: you assign the step sequencer to the oscillator pitch, and set the triggers and pitch in the step sequencer. Will have to take a look on that in more detail on...

Re: Surge-XT V2

But what's wrong with Clap? I don't know the differences between all these formats, but I installed Surge XT last month and it worked right out of the box under Linux Mint. The synth is a real beast, I'm not able to work properly with it yet, not that familiar with the whole routing and all the poss...

Re: [recommended] Welcome in the Friendzone

although I half expected it to get more and more aggressive towards the end. Didn't happen :) Yes I know... I sometimes try doing something like that, to build up to a height or eargasm in the song. But if I do that every time, it will bore the listener and maybe it will be too predictable, or mayb...
