Re: Open source Hadron synth now VST

Did -+rtmidi=alsa not work for you ? that works too but it looks like it defaults to alsa-midi in the first place, is that wrong? Not that I know. But I didn't realize it would select a default MIDI system, I assumed - wrongly, I guess - that you'd need to specify one. What version of Csound are yo...

Re: Open source Hadron synth now VST

... I tinkered with the -+rtmidi but it turns out csound only currently supports alsa-midi? Did -+rtmidi=alsa not work for you ? I end up getting this error... What version of Csound are you using ? any advice would be appreciated. thanks I'll try it again here and see what happens. Best, dp

Re: native VST synths for Linux ? UPDATE 6/6

does anyone know how to get loomer cumulus? It says it came with Computer Music 170 but I can't figure out how to get my hands on a copy. You have to purchase a copy CM (#$170 or later), either on-line or at a store. I forget how you establish proof-of-purchase, but once you do you can download Cum...

Re: Editable piano roll for easier microtonal midi?

Hi, I want to produce microtonal music,19edo in particular. I can get zynaddsubFX to make 19edo sound using midi input, but editing the input is difficult since most sequencers assume 12edo, so using their piano roll is confusing. I wish to be able to edit the look of the piano roll, changing the c...

Re: Ann: Radium 3.0.rc1

Hi Kjetil,

A quick note to let you know that I've built and installed Radium on 64-bit Fedora 19. I tested the demos, they performed without problems. Nice work, as always. :)

Best,

Re: Drumgizmo VST compilation failed

Greetings, I've compiled Drumgizmo and run it as a native Linux VST, but only in Bitwig. Performance was not so good, and Bitwig has trouble saving state when deleting the plugin, resulting in an unstable condition, i.e. I have to manually kill Bitwig. So yes, it will build and instantiate, and no, ...

Re: more VST bridge software

Hi dp, getting back to Airwave... how do I get it? It asks me to log in, but I can't see how to even register! Maybe: https://github.com/phantom-code https://github.com/phantom-code/airwave Also, is "fsthost" the same as vst-bridge? Because fsthost runs VSTi's on my PC very nicely, with n...

Re: Uhe go Linux!

Greetings, Please, for the record, no-one was attacking me. As I wrote to Dan, there's a lot going on in my life that has nothing to do with LM, but I really don't need another grain of aggro right now, and alas, we are a contentious lot. I need time away from direct involvement - for quite a while ...

@glowrak: we don't like your attitude, calm down and go for a walk. Hmm. With all respect, "we" does not include me. LM is definitely no longer a comfortable place for me, so I'll stop posting here. Like bluebell I have plenty of more useful things to do. Obviously you guys have everythin...

Re: Uhe go Linux!

...Whether users can use Wine or not is nothing to do with the the original announcement and the derailment is bordering on trolling. Posting about Wine in such a thread just in case a future user stumbles across this thread from google is ridiculous. With respect, perhaps not so ridiculous. The U-...

Re: Uhe go Linux!

I'm well aware of DOSBox, wine, KVM, Mac-on-Linux etc etc and I'm not trying to (I can't) stop people using them but surely we all just want more native Linux software, free or non-free. Speaking for myself, yes, I want to see more & better native music/sound apps. As a matter of preference I'd...

Re: Uhe go Linux!

My thoughts on Discovery and DiscoDSP are just my opinion. I've not tried the latest version of Discovery yet so maybe some of the bugs have been fixed but from what others have said it sounds like its still a CPU hog, in contrast to Aspect. The Discovery synths eat a lot of CPU, true, but I wonder...
