Re: Rest In Peace BB King!
Like the announcer on the Live At The Regal set says in his introduction, "The world's greatest blues singer, the King of the blues, Mister BB King !" I like his guitar playing - who doesn't - but his singing hits me deepest. The King is gone, there'll never be another like him. Long live ...

Re: Dexed MIDI output?
FYI DSSI plugins do not support MIDI out. (like Hexter) Right, my bad. I was using Hexter to receive sys-ex from an external editor (Voyetra's DX/TX editor). True to DSSI form, it doesn't send MIDI out. The OP might be interested in these solutions: Herr Mueller's DX7 http://www.vstforx.de/index.ph...

Re: Dexed MIDI output?
I read that Dexed would work as an editor for the DX7. However, when I start it in Carla - or in any other way - the patchbay shows only a MIDI in, and no MIDI out to connect to the MIDI interface. Anyone knows how to activate MIDI out on dexed. Is there any other usable DX7 patch editor I can use?...

Re: Airwave VST bridge
Greetings, I build and check Ardour daily. I rarely test its MIDI capabilities, but after reading this thread I decided to run some native and linked VST plugins in A4. The native VSTs - I tested the usual suspects - work well. The airwave-linked plugins worked but without GUI. Presets were listed a...

Re: Calling all Csound users!
I've finally got Csound version 6.04 installed. What settings are best for RTaudio and RTmidi? Using alsa for midi doesn't produce results, at least nothing that I can see in Jack. Is it even best to use Jack or Alsa for audio with Csound? What other settings for good RT audio production are recomm...

Re: Circle2
It was definitely listed for Linux earlier, looks like they've updated the page since I posted! Oh well, guess I'll have to keep waiting for this one. :( I wrote to the company, got a nice response, but yes, they screwed up the announcement. At this time there's no Linux version planned. Best, dp

Re: Bitwig is Recording Output instead of Input (mint + jack
Nevermind. Solved... I was going to ask whether you were using PA. Nothing against PulseAudio, I think it's fine for its purposes. Recording high-definition multitrack/multichannel audio/MIDI is not one of those purposes. I usually recommend removing it entirely, and it is not present on any of my ...

Re: What was Linux audio like in 1998 ?
Greetings, Linux Journal published my first article (in hardcopy) in September 1998: http://www.linuxjournal.com/article/3007 IIRC I had already written a couple things for LWN, published on-line. By that time I had begun the site at linux-sound.org, and I'm pretty sure I have an archive around here...

Re: Bitwig is Recording Output instead of Input (mint + jack
My problem is this: Bitwig is recording the soundcard's output instead of the input. I've seen this listed in Windows as an input source called "What U Hear," and that's how it is behaving. Anyway, I know this is happening because 1) Bitwig is recording its own metronome. And it's not muf...
