Re: xhip effects are released

This is often the case, as xhip is, by the developers choice of words, an alpha release, that historically changes both enough, and often enough, that traditional soundbank support is not plausible. Those who consistantly use xhip probably have collected several versions, and keep sounds created wit...

LinVst keeps getting better

V 1.76 is the latest, and has linvstconverttree, which will dive into a folders paths, and wrap all the windows vst/vsti .dll files it finds into native linux vst equivalents, using the same name, but with a .so extension. The conversion is quite instantaneous even when dozens of files are wrapped, ...

keep in mind it's an alpha version synth, and bank compatibility
can vary based on which versions of xhip were available when a given bank
was released. Good luck!

Re: vcvrack.com - open source modular

A quick google of vcvrack reaktor looks quite positive.
A blend of two outlier groups, not lacking in skill or imagination,
bodes well for the future!

Re: vcvrack.com - open source modular

I wonder if the presets from Beatzille/BazilleCM, or Bazille/Bazille demo, could provide some sound design shortcuts, by transposing 'zille cabling schemes to vcvrack, and loading modules in the rack that approximate the various 'zille selections? A dual monitor setup would be nice for such chores. ...

Re: Mixbus 4 for $29.95 til Nov. 5th

That discount is over, but for real, what more Mixbus would provide over Ardour? Things like 'real 70's sound' or 'analog mixer feel' are not for me. The defaults in the channel strip might be a real time saver for some people, and a some people use it mainly for mix/master duties. And there is the...

Re: U-he 15% coupon for taking audio survey

From U-he website twitter excerpts, Urs Heckman stated: "Repro-5 will join Repro-1 to form just "Repro". Free upgrade from Repro-1 to Repro bundle. December. Beta soon-ish." This indicates maintaining a bundle of two separate products, the Repro-1 monosynth, and the Repro-5 polys...

Re: xhip effects are released

As a lifelong shoogazer, there'll be times my gaze won't quite be forward  But 2020 is another decade, technically, and not so far off. Once you get into effects chains, the individual qualities pass under the bus and are mashed into ones creative madnesses. Or on a good day, blended into an a...

Re: iRig HD - high input volume

Try skipping Carla for now, and use the Guitarix standalone app or Rakarrack, or the free Amplitube 4 Custom Shop via wine-staging, which will act as preamps that can buffer the volume from your guitar. Your guitar volume knobs will be the first stage of gain-staging, then irig preamp, then guitarix...

Re: U-he 15% coupon for taking audio survey

I used my coupon on the U-he Repro-1 monosynth clone of the Sequential Circuits Pro 1 http://www.vintagesynth.com/sci/seqpro1.php Repro-1 fas a surprisingly wide range of sounds among the 500+ presets The 64 note sequencer is simple but flexible, on it's own panel, notes have a -36 to + 36 range, an...

You got it all backwards, look at the 5 years time passed between an early version of Mixbus and the first release of Mixbus 32c. https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/harrison-mixbus 2010 http://mixbus.harrisonconsoles.com/forum/thread-2608.html 2015 ' To run this complex DSP on every channel strip ...

Re: Mixbus 4 for $29.95 til Nov. 5th

Replicating analog gear in digital often presents the situations where digital is more flexible, and better at some things, but there can be a healthy market for faithful reproductions. U-he forums often discuss the tradeoffs in accurately modeling famous synthesizers, versus adding all manner of po...

Re: Mixbus 4 for $29.95 til Nov. 5th

Are Paul and X42 open to adding the capability you need?
I've got a Mixbus track with Synthmaster going to a wine-reaper hosting a phaser,
and also to a rakarrack for multi-effecting, and back again, so it has it's uses
as a simple send-return. But I do a lot of layering, and almost no panning.

Re: Mixbus 4 for $29.95 til Nov. 5th

The V4 manual, pages 244-248 describe a very standard process for sending stereo, mono, or multi-channel signals to outboard gear, and returning to the signal path, with latency measurement and compensation options. There are no defaults supplied, you select and configure everything along the way. D...
