Re: Call for Testing - JACK 1.9.9
EDIT: Latest 1.9.9 version is broken and doesn't work! DO NOT add the testing PPA (for now) Now you tell me! I'd better go for that rollback.... Oh :( sudo: ppa-purge: command not found ...OK, I guess I'm on to that sudo apt-get install ppa-purge ...OK, that's quite neat the way ppa-purge wor...

Re: Call for Testing - Cadence pre-Beta
There is something wrong with a studio handling. I've created 2 studios: first - for standard situations like internet and second - for audio work
Recky, this setup is working well for music listening with bridging. It now starts on login, making all the saved connections, and t...

Re: KXStudio FAQ
The safest way to ensure the settings are properly saved is to stop the studio, configure jack, start studio and save it. Bingo! It works :D I really don't know, having tried "everything" how I missed that combination. I think I did get it, once, but had not realised the formula that had ...

Re: KXStudio FAQ
This is my big problem now: I cannot change the jack parameters in Claudia. They appear to have been saved. They have been saved: I can see in the .config/jack file, but when it is all restarted, it is back to ?default? values. At least it remembers which driver to use so it works. Where is that stu...

Re: KXStudio FAQ
I'll try that. But, the Jack configurations in Ladish/Claudia are studio-specific, right? And should take priority over anything in the cadence version of the same thing? Restarting Jack in Cadence sometimes gives me errors of the "Cannot start streaming threads" variety. My hunch is that ...

Re: KXStudio FAQ
OK, thanks, so I can forget about that concern. I have one problem now, which is that config details are not remembered, ie, I set Jack/Firewire-driver to 96,000 in Claudia, and it starts at 48,000. I do the same in Cadence to be sure and it still starts at 48,000. Same with fail/ignore self-connect...

...When shutting down the machine!
Nothing obscure I just want to make sure processes exit cleanly, saving whatever they need to save.

Re: Support of audio interfaces under Linux
Just glanced over their web page ... For Lyra, we have created a unit that is compatible with the widest range of computer hardware by using a USB2 interface. This is a UAC2 (USB Audio Class 2) interface supported natively in Mac, Linux and Android, and in Windows via a driver. ... Looks good, if ex...

Re: KXStudio FAQ
Hi Falk, thanks for your always quick answers (I don't know when you can get time to develop!) but I want to know, this time, is not how to reload, but how to shut down cleanly, ensuring that all process exit hapipily

Re: KXStudio FAQ
Everything is going reasonably well now. I just have some minor quibbles with what connects to what on startup, and with remembering configuration changes. Ladish starts on login. I can then start Claudia. What is the correct, clean way to shut it all down? It feels uncomfortable to just shut the ma...

Re: Some trouble with installing (rather reinstalling) KXStu
Half that would probably do, as long as it did not have to include large amounts of data. For dual boot machines, remember that Linux can see NTFS (Windows) partitions, but Windows cannot see Linux partitions. Before I relegated WinXP to just one tiny, almost-never-used partition, I had a "D-Dr...

Re: KXStudio FAQ
I think you need more than [...] pointing to what is a very important option/opportunity. Could you make one box on the System panel including the on-startup and default-jack/Ladish options? If we start a Ladish on startup, then the jack options will be those specified with the studio settings, righ...

Re: KXStudio FAQ
All being well, I'll be here :) And if this continues to work well, it will be the single big thing that gets me to use 12.04 day to day (even if I do keep the Narwhale wallpaper just to confuse!). It probably needs a clean install, being currently a test bed. I'm using MATE, by the way, installed o...
