Re: 'Thanks for posts' plugin for phpBB3
Ah well, thanks for clarifying, but my point holds, a thumbs up can also act like an informal polling mechanism. AFAIU, we're having a debate on a proposal with the aim of understanding each others concerns and moving towards a possible consensus. I don't think it would be harmful, and I think that ...

Re: 'Thanks for posts' plugin for phpBB3
I'm guessing/perceiving those last two posts are/as heavy in ironic sarcasm given they were essentially "likes" in the form of actual posts. Today I would really like to signal my thanks to eikakot for creating an LV2 of abNinjam, but it would be entirely wasteful of me to reply with a &qu...

Re: WineASIO and Carla Issues After Updating to Ubuntu 20.04
Hmm. I'm fairly unfamiliar with the Wine etc side of things. I think it probably best you have a search through the existing issues to see if anything matches - https://github.com/falkTX/Carla/issues - or, if not, start a new one. Edit: to confirm, you have the experimental features turned on in set...

Re: Hard (industrial?) electro: Tristate
i'd pogo hard to this
it might be likened by some to electronic art music
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electronic_music notes that phrase, indeed that page was titled Electronic_art_music until 2008
edit: the next track has Radiophonic Workshop/Delia Derbyshire vibes, nice

Re: 1000+ LV2 plugins
I spoke with folk in #lv2, Ardour uses an rdfs:comment on the plugin for a description in the UI, and the x42 midifilters.lv2 is an example of a plugin. Alex of Zrythm said they will implement it at some point as a tooltip, and I have requested it of DPF . So plugin devs, rdfs:comment your plugins! :)

Re: 1000+ LV2 plugins
Yes but the difference is that you can't install dozens of them via a single console command like you can on most distros! There is no denying some people both hoard plugins and also suffer from a stressful paradox of choice. A failure of imagination is a constant challenge for all creators a...

Re: 1000+ LV2 plugins
I'm not sure how that adds up to a "worst" case p; On one side, there are infinite modular possibilities. Sounds good to me :) On the other point, I'm afraid I've got to call "polemic" on "I know (or can suppose what they do) dozen or two of this thousand of URIs."; I j...

Re: 1000+ LV2 plugins
"plugin overload" is a problem in the mind of the creator
if you don't use Arch, the understanding is the AUR is a wild west. there will not be an AUR helper ever in the official repos.
i'll leave the curation to dvzrv (or, ultimately, again, the mind of the creator)

Re: 'Thanks for posts' plugin for phpBB3
I don't particularly get any impression that the Thanks button feels like a cold post rating system when it has been used on the ODROID forum. The Topic/Post Reactions one is like the new school Facebook like button with multiple options, which could be good, also bring the ability for people to sho...
