Re: Carla on ARM

I don't think that dave is right here. Any binary that is compiled for x86 processors will not work on an ARM processor. wine only emulates system-calls, not the processor! If you get a windows vst compiled for arm based windows machines, there is a hypothetical chance that this could work with wine...

Re: Midi Sysex Failure? Kawai K4

Hi, as it is very unlikely that you will get many answers here: I do own a kawai k4, and I have been through this process (restoring the original presets). But: I have forgotten how, this was some years ago. General idea: You will have to find a way to transfer this midi-data unprocessed to your k4....

Re: Worse performance when power supply plugged in!

I had a rehearsal yesterday evening. I took care that the battery was fully loaded, and everything went really smooth. So while from a technical standpoint I would like to understand things a little better, I will leave the system as is until after the next concert and take care for the battery bein...

Re: Cheap tablet/ereader for sheet music

Hi, this is not completely on-topic, but I own a convertible notebook and tried to use it for sheet-music. I found that the evince pdf reader is good for that, because it supports touch navigation, whereas okular doesn't. So with evince in fullscreen, I can just swipe over the page to turn it. Me be...

Re: Worse performance when power supply plugged in!

Current status: The performance with power-plug is no longer really bad, just worse than when battery is fully loaded. The worst combination is power plug + loading + performance-mode on cpu. Yesterday I was playing some piano (with pianoteq) and forgot to turn off kde power -management. As soon as ...

Re: Worse performance when power supply plugged in!

Hi, that was fully charged + plugged. Here some more runs: [root@agantergos ag]# cyclictest -m -Sp98 -i100 -d0 --smi # /dev/cpu_dma_latency set to 0us policy: fifo: loadavg: 2.89 1.42 0.56 3/455 4597 T: 0 ( 4297) P:98 I:100 C: 488698 Min: 2 Act: 3 Avg: 3 Max: 36 SMI: 0 T: 1 ( 4302) P:98 I:100 C: 488...

Re: Build failure (2)

If I read the cmake-output correctly, you are missing:

lilv-0 >= 0.22.0, sord-0 >= 0.14.0

Install the dev-packages for those and reconfigure. Or use the cmake-variable to use the builtin-version of lv2-support.

Andreas

Re: Worse performance when power supply plugged in!

Hi,
the first command works (meaning: no errors here), but I do not get any output. I probably miss something, but I do not have any knowledge of cyclictest.

The second command only works as root, my terminal-screen fills instantly then.

Re: [solved] setbfree as plugin in qtractor

Hi, I have another problem with setbfree in qtractor: With all other plugins, the sound cannot be heard unless I mark it with "monitor" in the mixer or I click on the track (auto monitor). The setbfree organ is "always on", to turn if off, I need to de-activate the plugin. Is thi...

Re: Behringer UM2, Guitarix and Jack

Hi,
if you have set up your soundcard correctly, the needed connections are:

System Capture 1 - gx Head in

gx Head FX 0 and 1 to system Playback 1 and 2

Guitarix also have an auto-connect feature which usually does the right thing when playing guitar solo.

Re: Worse performance when power supply plugged in!

Hi,

do you have a doc on cyclictest for audio profiling?

I have never used that, and the docs are not so simple.

Re: Standard test needed to benchmark XRUNs

Hi, this is, of course hardware-dependent, but it is usual for modern cpus. You can read that in most hardware-tests. For notebooks, testers usually make a stress test to see how long the highest frequencies can be kept, as this is highly dependent on the power of the cooling system. The turbo-boost...
