Aliki alternative ?
Hi I've been using Aliki for measuring impulse responses, but the interface is very clunky and outdated and it gives no error messages. Furthermore, it seems it doesn't always work. I made an IR sweep on my laptop, but Aliki refused to deconvolute, providing no error messages. I moved the IR project...

Yes. I've been watching this project for a year or so. Guess it's time to get one. It would definitely simplify my Guitarix-in-a-box-experiment.

Re: Restore complete Jack-session
It's a good question. When all plugins of the session are hosted in the same host - like Carla or Ardour - it is no problem, as it will save the entire setup, including connections, and start it up again. But when you use other programs that are not under the hosts control, you are more on your own....

You might also have a look at MidiLayer which is designed to store and select midi patches with midi routing and a gui for live use.

Re: Screaming amp simulation ideas?
So I tried Frank Carvalho's solution, and I have to say it's pretty convincing; at first, it sounded too monotone, like the beep of a cardiogram in flatline. But when you add EQ, as you move the EQ, you get different sounds that make it very amp-like. I think recording that and mixing it with my pl...

Re: Screaming amp simulation ideas?
What would happen, if you run an overdriven amp stack in Guitarix with a cab sim at the end, route that signal through a short delay and back to the input at low volume, and perhaps with a bit of EQ? Kind of what feedback does anyway.

Re: A Virtual Keyboard
The problem you have is, how to interact with the keyboard. WIth the keyboard in focus, it receives all the PC keyboard events. Jack-keyboard works that way, and Carla also, when a specific plugin has focus. When the keyboard is not in focus, then how do you plan to communicate with it? Keys on the ...

Re: How to create these synth sounds?
Yup. Most subtractive synth plugins will be able to do it. Best with 24db/oct filters and two oscillators. This particular synth tries to look like the Moog Rogue.

Re: Korg Legacy VST hosting on Linux?
Thanks for the suggestions and links. Seems not to be so easy then, although WineHQ gives it gold rating. You might be better off getting the free versions of Syntronik and SampleTank 3 from IK Multimedia, as their account, registration, and 'Custom Shops' (for ala-carte purchases) Thanks, but I rea...

Korg Legacy VST hosting on Linux?
Title says it all. Does anyone have any experience running the Legacy Collection VSTs in Carla?
