Re: A festive Yoshimi
There are 2 things I don't like in Yoshimi and I ask if you can fix those issues – at least for me these are issues: 1.) When playing a sound with a release time set (sound fading when lifting the key) and I switch from poly to mono then I'd expect that only one note is audible. But playing several ...

Re: How to prevent apps connecting to playback ports
Ardour 5.10 Qtackctl 0.4.5. Example situation, I am using the qtjackctl patchbay to provide a persistent connection for VLC using it's JACK output to an Ardour stereo track but when I start vlc it has a connection to that Ardour track but ALSO connects directly to the hardware playback ports. How c...

Re: Focusrite scarlet solo into Reaper
The generic setup is installing jackd, a lowlatency audio server. Jackd can use audio interfaces that are supported by ALSA and other lowlevel drivers. There is some good news: The Scarletts run out of the box with Linux, its builtin ALSA drivers and jackd. I don't know Reaper. ASIO ist no architect...

Re: Migrating from Musescore & LMMS to Rosegarden - confused.
I suggest not loading synths directly to RG but to use ALSA MIDI in, say, QJackCtl to link a standalone synths. I use Rosegarden with LinuxSampler this way. I suggest the other way: Load synths directly into Rosegarden minimizes latency and works fine (fluidsynth-dssi, hexter, whysynth ...). Since ...

A helper damon that makes external MIDI devices available.

Re: Sing, beastie, sing!
In the meantime someone wrote a module that enables an non-root user to start programs, e.g. jackd, with realtime priority. See https://github.com/pbiernacki/mac_rtprio Works fine. But the FreeBSD guys don't want ALSA, they are looking for someone who implements MIDI in OSS. So programs that rely on...

Re: [ANN] Vee One Suite 0.8.1 - A Spring'17 release
Is there a simple way to find out which sound is played at the moment when having the drumkv1 gui open?
That would help adjusting the volume of the samples. Little lights in the list of samples for each sample could be one way to display it.

Re: The Art of Mastering
I don't do the mastering in a separate step. I found my dream team in the Master bus (in this order): - One of the CALF EQs (for *slight* adjustments) - CALF multiband compressor - CALF saturator - CALF multiband limiter Hints: - Use the same crossover frequencies in multiband compressor and multiba...

Re: Die Frau im Mond
I'm usually not a fan of such over-produced 80's drums I broke their clean sound a bit with some medieval small drums playing the same pattern. So each 80's tom was doubled by a medieval drum (that would sound like an empty pizza box when played alone). I made some dirty things with the vocals that...

Re: Die Frau im Mond
What a great song!!! Cool! Compliments! Some positive meant critic. For the tune which started at 11 sec i would have chosen another sound. For me this sound is a bit anoying cause to my honest oppinion it doens't fit between the rest of the song, and i think that's a pity. But this quite...

Re: Dil-Keşîde Fasıl - وصلة دلكشده - (Relaxing Arabic Music for Harp)
It sounds strange to my ears since I am used to the tempered tuning of the western world.
Can you tell me how you did the re-tuning of some noets? Did you tune the samples as appropriate and make a new sf2 soundfont?

Die Frau im Mond
With my guitarist friend from olde times: a song about the very old game. A man who's acting very cool (at least he's believing) to convince a woman that she will want him.

Re: Aliasing
How should these aliases occur? The audio interface's low pass input filter will not allow aliasing.
