Re: How can I eliminate pop sounds from alsa_in and zita-a2j working on ALSA loopback?

FWIW, I never got the alsa jack plugin nor the alsa loopback interface + alsa_in/out working perfectly, did spend quite a lot of time on it. The PA bridge seems to work fine though (except quite high latency).

Thanks, and you have no idea how close to the truth you come with the beer/pizza comment ;)

Re: hey i need some help with recording!!!!

Much as I'm for using any tools you want to, it's probably a good idea to use native plugins for something low latency like amp sims (due to performance reasons) . Once at the mixing stage it's much less important.

Re: Worse performance when power supply plugged in!

I seem to have no problem to let the intel pstate driver change frequency, it causes no xruns, but of course makes it hard to compare CPU/DSP load between different scenarios as numbers become kind of meaningless. Even my laptop is happy with changing frequencies. The only problem I have with this o...

Re: Worse performance when power supply plugged in!

You can have a look at the output of dmesg, if it contains entries saying something like thermal throttling (don't remember the exact wording) it's because the cpu gets too hot and throttles in order to avoid overheating. I have an asus i7 laptop that does exactly this, but does it when on battery t...

Re: Jack and headphones

Have you tried looking at the mixer, maybe something is muted or turned down. Jack only routes the audio, doesn't concern itself with levels. Maybe try alsamixer.

I'd like to thank you for this generous move, and also for making LV2 plugins on windows/osx!

Well in my defense I'll quote from the OP :)

My intention was to give a heads up that he can possibly ditch W7 entirely if it is only GR holding him back..

Re: Cut Through Recordings Plug-ins available in LV2 Format

I don't want to point the finger at anyone, if I'd wanted to I'd already done so.. I just don't think it's productive for this forum to meet posts about commercial software with antagonism. The purpose of the forum is at https://linuxmusicians.com/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=271 Looks like there is no ...

Re: New guy here and already struggling with Jack!

I'm not saying that native applications are bad, in fact . . . . Oh, that is exactly what you saying. Ah new user steps in, ask for help to get linux native guitar processing software to run, and you, didn't have anything to contribute to that, then told, "No, that is the wrong way, go, use wi...

Re: Cut Through Recordings Plug-ins available in LV2 Format

Well I'm all for libre software! I'm also interested in getting my work done in the best/fastest way. So sometimes one might want to use some closed source software because it's the best tool for the job.. And yes I've experienced the drawbacks of commercial closed source software, still IMO no reas...
