Re: Dragonfly Hall Reverb
I like that design, it has the same simplicity and usability as the Valhalla reverbs. There's definitely room for a few more controls.

Re: OpenDeck DIY MIDI platform
Wow, I just had a look around for a BCR2000 to buy, they cost loads now! I was hoping to pick one up because it would be quite handy at the moment and there used to be loads floating around second hand. The BCR/F were such good controllers. I think you could make a controller with it being cost effe...

Re: OpenDeck DIY MIDI platform
This looks really interesting, I was very close to making one about 10 years ago with a project I forget the name of but it was very much starting from scratch and a bit over my head. Funny thing is though that the biggest problem I had would remain with this, finding a way to get a box built for it.

Re: [old music] All along the watchtower
I don't think there's too much bass, everything is clear and bright. This style is supposed to be murky and dark, I wouldn't touch it.

Re: best usb audio interface for live - two inputs
The focusrite scarlett 2i2 is really good. Might be a bit more than some you've been looking at but it's solid in linux and I would imagine will hold its value quite well if you need to sell it.

Re: Arch based audio distro
I used to use gentoo and it wasn't that much different to using arch for audio. Most stuff audio stuff on arch you have to compile, I'd rather have the extra control of gentoo if I have to do all that. System stuff doesn't take that long (mostly) in gentoo, I didn't see much point in arch after usin...

Re: [old music] All along the watchtower
This is incredible, such a good cover. Think you really made it your own.
I agree with a longer fade out, maybe start it a bit earlier. Wouldn't mind hearing some fx in the end section, some echoes perhaps.
I'm being picky though, sounds really amazing as it is.

Indeed, it's not that is not possible but perhaps is a tall order for a lone programmer in their spare time.

Re: here's an idea using AI
Izotope's Neuron and Ozone have an assistant that does an analysis and sets eq, comp etc accordingly. I've been using it in ozone for mastering and it is really good, it actually sets up a dynamic eq just before the limiter to lessen the load on the limiter. I really want to try out Neuron to use it...

Re: My wish for ZynAddSubFX: Grouped Drum Kit
This is a bug, I run in to it trying to make basses. Set to monophonic and the release to a medium value, now the notes overlap and and it is not truly monophonic.

Not me, I would go for Kde Neon but depends what you want. Most differences between distros are superficial to a certain extent.Gillv88 wrote:I think everybody is in agreeance that I should install Ubuntu? LOL!

Re: Why Do You Write Your Own Music?
Honestly, I don't know why. I feel impelled to although as the years pass by I become more insecure and less confident about it. To me, as a general rule, making covers is pointless, I've only been interested in making my own music, I enjoy lots of covers but, perhaps as a result of my own lack of c...

Re: Sound playback quality in AVLinux
This sounds a bit strange, can you record the output from both arch and avlinux and post them here so we can hear the difference? Ideally routed out from your soundcard and back in to audacity or something. Unless there is some bitrate or sampling rate conversion happening there isn't much that coul...
