Re: Turntable
I use a Stanton D6827, this fits the 680 cartridge. Sadly the stanton website doesn't give any more info now like it did a few years ago. They are easy to get and reasonably priced (however it seems thatStanton has a new version so I hope the old ones are still available). An advantage to recording ...

Re: Turntable
Most of the 78rpm's I play on the JBSystems are already scratched enough so I don't have to do itI also have a JBSystems Q30D, and I can assure that this is good enough for mixing, but definitely not for scratching.

Re: Turntable
I only use turntables to transcibe LP's to CD. For 33/45rpm I use my old Pioneer PL-640. Modified it a bit by removing the 220V psu and put that in a box a bit further. Also replaced the arm wiring to twisted pair as I use a balanced input preamp. For 78rpm I have a rather new JBSystems Q30D. This i...

Re: Linux Distribution
Check around your family/friends/collegues if any of them uses linux and if they might give you some help. Nothing beats a real person to help you. Most distros these days have a music oriented version your support team would be comfortable with. Else check your hardware, visit the forums/sites of a...

On another forum I visit they managed to track that "sometimes" to searches running on the database. Just an idea.

clear the "new post" marking of the idex automatically
I would like that once I left the forum, then all posts would be marked as "read". Even on those parts of the forum I haven't visited, or threads I haven't opened. This makes it easier to follow. You come back and you see directly where there are new posts instead of having to check the da...

Re: How do you get your pc quiet?
I have given up on that. Getting this rig silent is just impossible. But I managed to get it usable. Largest different were some rubber "things" that I put between the PSU and the chassis. (there are 2 psu's in this box, don't ask)

Re: Also new here
ps. did you ask on the LAU mailinglist for an equivalent of CEP? Nope, I'm not active on mailinglists. AFAIK Audacity has some possibilities and then there is GWC. But having to switch between 3 apps (Rezound being number 3) makes it a pain compared to CEP. We've recently opened a special forum par...

Re: ReZound: jack connections
Maybe a bit late, but this isn't a bug. Rezound asks you the first time you start for these connections. But if you just click "yes" without reading you end up with both connected to ouput 1. This isn't difficult to put right: open the register file in the .rezound directory of your user a...

Also new here
Hello, I subscribed after some propaganda for this forum was posted on the SOS board. Think it is about time there is a specific forum for audio/music on linux. Not a musician myself (well, I do play a bit of organ) but I like recording and messing around. Most of it is DAT to CD transcribing of org...
