Re: The Chrononaught
i really enjoy the composition, especially the warbly synths in the first half, but i find the sounds in general and especially the drums in the later stages of the piece sound a little to flat for the sound i was imagining this to go for, it might be just personal taste, but i'd rather go for some ...

Re: Android Audio Apps that don't require access to Play Store
i've made a quick search and SunVox does look pretty amazing, the devs even have a lot of other very interesting projects, like an emulation of the ANS, but visiting their site the android download link just lead me to the playstore - so this seems sadly a no, or did i miss something?

dmx & linux?
hello, not sure where i should post this since it's not strictly music-related, but i guess since a lot of you are musicians and djs there must also be some people proficient in organizing events and the technical side of that. i was thinking of getting a simple dmx dimmer for dimmable lightbulbs an...

Re: North Korea
When one sees 'North Korea' and one immediately thinks it cannot be but politics, then I suspect there's a problem underlying regarding the infuence of mainstream media in one's life. You might have a general point here, but on the other hand bringing up Laibach and trying to make an argument for &...

Re: jack output clicks/pops?
Ok, had a look at the html file. It seems that the device is indeed using implicit feedback, but in order to start this , it needs an internal playback buffer filled first. This also means that for recording, the playback buffer must be continuously filled also. The latter doesn't fit into the mode...

Re: First attempt at producing somebody else...
Sorry, but getting it from bandcamp has proven a fruitless pain in the rearside on my tablet, sacrificed an email to no avail, I'll sure not install the app. Are there alternatives? i can usually download just fine from bandcamp, despite not having any email/account/app whatever, just put in 0 and ...

Re: jack output clicks/pops?
Just chiming in as this was not mentioned yet: are you sure to use your fastest USB port? no Hub? no faulty usb cable? well, same setup on the hardware side plays flawlessly in windows, so i assume its not an issue with hub/cable/rc300 -- EDIT: tried out threadirqs bootflag and rtirq and usb gets e...

Re: jack output clicks/pops?
kernel is lowlatency. jack was already running at priority 89 in my last tests, but i will try to get the usb priority up there too.
that's also one of my worries, we'll see if there is some progress--Jack Winter wrote:Maybe the fixes for the driver weren't entirely successful?

Re: jack output clicks/pops?
ok, i tried turning off speedstepping completely from the bios, the clicks persist, so i don't feel it's related to the cpu.

Re: Boss Micro BR-80
hello from the other thread, since recently my rc300 kind-of works i've been starting to use it, but now i have the issue of some clicks/crackles/pops through jack, i've started this thread over in system tuning ( https://linuxmusicians.com/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=17422 ), since this might be one o...

i've tried it with max performance and also smaller periods and periods/buffer setting 3. machine is a lenovo x200t with core2duo as seen below. kernel is 4.8.1 low latency, some adjustments from the audio configuration checklist were made for example to the limits.conf. i don't think its really a p...
