Re: Can U id this guitar?

Cool guitar. Looks like a Hofner or a Framus with that control plate. It was one of the first electrics and I bought it '59. I vaguely remember a pair of really weird & narrow pu's on it. I wonder what it would be worth today? My brother passed away not long ago, I should have asked him who he ...

Re: KxStudio into Debian?

I got the repo-tree sorted out, and I've started both the Tumblewed and Jesie procedures all over again. Also managed to import the KxStudio repos into Synaptic this time (after installing the prerequisite 'apt-transport-https' package). Then I installed wineasio rpm in Tumbleweed without any appare...

Re: identify this guitarware?

I don't know how to thank you glowrak guy, for writing up a guide like that! The best thankyou? # Pound that record button til it bleeds 64th note runs, and pass it on  (Honesty, if I don't write things down every so often, it all starts getting fuzzy, and I then i wind up getting demoted :sh...

Re: identify this guitarware?

I don't know how to thank you glowrak guy, for writing up a guide like that! Should I be successful I'll certainly come back and write up a detailed one for Suse users. It looks like my Debian install will move forward too so I won't be short on things to do

Re: KxStudio into Debian?

I use KXStudio with Debian stable and the Liquorix kernel and have been very pleased with the resulting system So far I have not had latency problems but then my needs are very modest and not even close to those of a pro. What I've been doing on Suse with the canned kernel is use rosegarden to crea...

Re: KxStudio into Debian?

Something is wrong with your /etc/apt/sources.list. Open it in a text editor as root and remove DVD entries. Thanks, that led somewhere. Here's the file as I found it (I later commented out the 2nd line and uncommented the bottom 2) # deb cdrom:[Debian GNU/Linux 8.7.1 _Jessie_ - Official amd64 DVD ...

Re: KxStudio into Debian?

I tried to follow the advice for incorporating the KxStudio package subset into a Debian installation but it bombed! The installation DVD title is "Debian 8.7.1 Amd64 1" and the first command sugested @ http://kxstudio.linuxaudio.org/Repositories is: wget https://launchpad.net/~kxstudio-de...

Re: identify this guitarware?

Do you have wineasio installed, and chosen as your asio device in your DAW preferences? If it's in your repo, after installing it on a 64 bit system, normal user must run these 2 commands: wine64 regsvr32 wineasio.dll wine regsvr32 wineasio.dll On a 32 bit system, just the second command. Success w...

Re: identify this guitarware?

Guitar Rig 4/5 and Player work fine using reaper in wine, and have for many years. I'm assuming you used wine to run the installer. If by chance the installer didn't finish, or you hand-installed, you might need to create some paths and folders, to match a windows install, since NI scatter their va...

Re: KxStudio into Debian?

You may also try AVLinux which is Debian based with KXStudio repositories http://www.bandshed.net/avlinux/ AvLinux doesn't have Rakkarack (because it's no longer being developed), but KxStudio does. If I can get GuitarRig5 running under wine then I'll probably stay with Tumbleweed mosty because I'm...

Re: identify this guitarware?

I did once, no response, suppose I could try again. I sometimes farm work out to a pro and he's on Mac+LogicPro, says most pros are on Macs too but that's midi work and not necessarily guitar recording. I've been trying to get GuitarRig going on Linux (to no avail) and that's how I began doubting th...

Re: KxStudio into Debian?

got it, thanks

I'm not too familiar with the debian family so first I'll just ring it out on its own, as installed in its own partition
