Re: building a rudimentary EUB (upright stick bass)
Tnob, You can achieve alot with discarded materials, so go for it! Regarding the right measurements: There ain't such a thing. Everything between 30" up to 42" stringlength will do for a EUB, but that gives a lot of room to move. For a string you can also use a nylon weedwacker string, ava...

Is there an Linux alternative for Reaktor?
In the above mentioned link an other guitarist is using Reaktor to process six signals parallel but using only one instance of Reaktor: http://music-electronics-forum.com/atta ... eaktor.jpg

Re: Experiment: Makin a low-budget Polyphonic (midi)guitar s
Time to do a little update: 1. There's someone else doing the same project only with windows based software: http://music-electronics-forum.com/t33999/ 2. I'm still strugling to "midify" the multible instances of Rakarrack, I can easily open multible instances with a custom bank of presets...

Re: building a rudimentary EUB (upright stick bass)
For building the EUB, you could do also do a google search on electric cello's. They are smaller but they are build the same. Check the musical instruments makers forum (http://www.mimf.com) there you can find some info on (high-end) EUB's. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G4R2tCQg1ug As to stringleng...

Re: Experiment: Makin a low-budget Polyphonic (midi)guitar s
I've made a studio in Gladish containing several instances of Rakarrack, each loading a specific bank. Each instance is connected with a different signal (in this test setup 1 for the bassstrings and 1 for the treble strings) and this works well. The last thing I want to solve is to control everythi...

Greetings the Netherlands
I'm guitarplayer and science teacher who is interested in making and experimentating with low-budget custom guitars for my personal use. I try to use commonly available materials. At this moment I'm playing a 7 string guitar tuned in fifths and I'm testing a polyphonic pickup. In line with these exp...

Thanks for your reply Autostatic.
Is there an other way to process 7 signals at once with different effects?
And if so, is it possible to change the presets with a midicontroller?

Experiment: Makin a low-budget Polyphonic (midi)guitar setup
I'm building a electric guitar which will contain a polyphonic pick-up, either made of piezo-pickup or using the strings as single coil pickups (see: http://music-electronics-forum.com/t14952/ for futher information). It's a 7 string guitar (tuned in fifths). This would result in 7 different signals...
